The facility itself is clean, bright, and visually nice, and there are definitely some wonderful, hardworking nurses, housekeepers, and activities staff here. However, the overall environment has changed significantly over the last year, and not for the better.Despite consistent price increases, the actual value and care seem to be decreasing. There is high turnover with the CNAs, which is hard on residents who need consistency. A major disappointment for many families was management's decision to remove the bird enclosure from the common room. The birds were a massive selling point and a source of daily joy for the seniors. Replacing that quiet space with a pool room—which many residents in wheelchairs cannot even use—has caused a very noticeable drop in morale and widespread depression among the residents. Communication from the administration lacks transparency. When popular staff members suddenly disappear, management refuses to answer basic questions, it creates an atmosphere of anxiety. Moms scheduled showers hsve been missed many times too- and overworked CNAs are the only ones in there at nights and on weekends- no nurses- no management. Furthermore, for well over $5,000 a month, they do not offer any transportation services. Every other community does. Because of these ongoing management issues, multiple families are now actively moving their loved ones to The Courtyard once the licensing for assisted is cleared. Its a fresh slate- more positive atmosphere, included transportation and so many massive move in bonuses. Plus- its near a huge fitness center, shopping and walking. Tlc is next to a run down empty mall and a Burger king. Families are paying more but getting less at TLC, and it is driving residents away. Trust feels lost there and we aren't paying to watch mom fall into depression.
