About The Terraces At Lawrence

The Terraces at Lawrence is well-known in the community of Lawrenceville, thanks to its long history of providing comfort and support.

In 1898, Colonel Daniel Morris left a substantial bequest to the Catholic Diocese of Trenton to create a home for the aged. From this bequest, the community was then founded by Bishop James A. McFaul, creating the St. Michael’s Children’s Home and Morris Hall Home for the Aged, known today as The Terraces at Lawrence.

The land where our community sits was formerly farmland that the Diocese used to produce food for The Terraces. The cornerstone for Morris Hall was laid in 1904, and Bishop McFaul began accepting residents into the community in 1905, holding the community’s first-ever Mass on August 13, 1905. Morris Hall will celebrate its 120th anniversary in 2024, supported by its legacy of care, hope, faith, and comfort.

Today, we uphold the ideal of providing an enhanced quality of life for each of our residents, regardless of their needs. Everyone deserves a life of comfort, and we’re proud to provide it here at The Terraces at Lawrence.

My MIL has been a resident of The Terraces at Lawrence for many years. She is now living in The Journeys Memory Care Unit. The Activities Staff, Rich Morales and Lori, along with all the aides and nurses, on all shifts, have been wonderful. She is well cared for and Rich and Lori work hard to keep her, and the other residents, entertained and engaged daily, a very important function for those with memory issues. We could not be more thankful for each and every one of them. We also need to give a big "Thank You" to Samantha Meisner, the Administrator of The Terraces. She goes above and beyond to answer any questions we may have and to expertly handle any issues that may arise. She is always available to help whenever needed. The nursing staff (Agnes, Maggie, Chanay, Heidi (sp)) and all the aides (Denise, Julianna, Rita, Michele, Lelani, just to name a few) on the unit take such good care of Mom. They all give us peace of mind knowing she is being well taken care of. Thank you all!!

My mother with Parkinson’s stays at the terraces and they have been nothing short of accommodating. Samantha, the executive director, makes not only the residents, but also their family, a priority. Agnes, one of the nurses there, is also incredible. It is beyond evident she truly cares for the well being of all residents who live there and I couldn’t feel more comfortable with entrusting them with my mother’s care. Thank you so much for all the help you’ve provided us!

We had a very positive, smooth experience with getting Mom transferred from hospital to rehab, to step down care to transitioning to assisted living. We highly recommend this facility - Stacey and Samantha were amazing, nurse Agnes and staff truly remarkable folks and Ms Rita, you all helped our mom on both her good and terrible days. Highly recommend this facility. We truly were blessed to go with The Terraces, formerly known as St Lawrence rehab. Thank you all! Sherri & Family

Every experience at this facility was a plus. Even on the difficult days. Everyone who works there from the young man who answers the phone (sorry I didn’t get his name) to the floor manager Alexus and the Administrator Umsha as well as the social worker Madison - they put us at ease. However a very special thank you to, two different CNAs. Priscilla eras exceptional and went above and beyond with her care. The calm and peace she brought to uncomfortable situations was simply outstanding. To find one CNA that is outstanding in their field is always a pleasant surprise but finding two is rare indeed but Jefferson was equally outstanding just like Priscilla. This speaks of the good leadership of this facility - here at One Bishop Drive. Great Healthcare comes ftom the top down. Creating an atmosphere for CNAs and others to succeed starts with great leadership which is what we experienced at St Lawrence.

This review is long overdue since my mom has been at The Terraces' Grace Gardens for 6 months. Our family is very happy with the quality of care and attention she receives, and we know she is safe. She has settled in nicely. The nursing staff and aides are wonderful. The Director of Nursing Regina and the Director of The Terraces Samantha are extremely helpful and experienced in senior care, and they are accessible and responsive whenever we needed their help. We looked at other facilities before we selected The Terraces to be sure our mom would have the best care, and we are confident we made the best choice for our family.
