It is a pleasant surprise. The place is clean, and the staff is helpful, especially Clara and Dunel. Hopefully it stays like that for the duration of my mother-in-law‘s visit there. Thanks for taking care of her.

Staff is very nice, but they need to do a better job cleaning the rooms. My mothers room had food on the floor, night stand and floor had something very sticky all over it, no surprise that there was also a few roaches crawling around. Definitely disappointed and disgusted. Please do a better job cleaning.

My Mom had the unfortunate mishap to be at this facility for 21 days. If I could give zero stars I would gladly do so. This institution deserves only negative comments: all staff members were incredibly insolent, not only to my Mom, but also to me. I had the right, not only as a poa holder, but also as a biology/medical degree to make strong suggestions as to my Mom’s care and inform them about previous health information. I was told that “ I’m not a doctor”. That’s when I started to question, if anyone at that place even graduated from high school. The first day- my mom did nothing, and she was there TO BE REHABILITATED, not as a nursing home resident. The second day, they also did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING, but I did get a call from the financial dept trying to dearly discuss all possible “ what if my mom’s insurance runs out”. I told them we will be discussing that when we cross that bridge. When I called on Monday, why the hell did my Mom receive any rehab therapy yet ( after being in that hellhole for 5 days already), they said that “students are on spring break “(?!?) What kind of idiotic answer is that? I left a message for the case manager to call me as soon as possible- never received a call back. You cannot get ANYONE on the phone there. Instead of getting better my mom declined, because they ignored my initial request to have my mom on nocturnal bi-pap ( on which SHE DEPENDS) - they told me I’m not a doctor and ignored what I told them to do. My mom was taken at night to the emergency room because she was not able to breathe, had a critical level of oxygen and ACQUIRED COMMUNAL PNEUMONIA !!! If you care at least a little bit about your loved ones, DO NOT allow them to go to this hellhole! The rooms do not have their own bathroom/ showers. You have to beg for everything, even for them to take you to the shower, that is located at the hallway and is shared with all patients! Absolutely disgusting!

Terrace of Delray is a hidden gem! I have nothing but love and gratitude for this place. My dad needed to be in a nursing home after staying there for rehab. During what was a very difficult time, Alecia in billing, came through for us and made the process smooth, and now my dad is a resident. The quality of workers is what puts the “home” in “nursing home.” And Terrace of Delray has many high-quality, dedicated workers. What I find notably important is that the people running the place aren’t hidden in an office somewhere, trying to avoid you. They are in their respective offices or on the floor and want to know what’s going on. I get the sense that they want to make the place as good as it can be. If I have a question and I find Amelia the DON around, she’ll answer it, or if it has to go to someone else, she’ll make sure that it gets to the right person. And, no matter how busy she is, Nicola the ADON welcomes any questions or concerns I have, then and there. She doesn’t rush me and is thorough and diligent about whatever it is. I know that I and my dad can always pass by the Nursing Supervisors desk and get a hello from Snow, Greg, Laverne, Sandy or Roselande. They keep everything humming along. Nurses Yulee, CJ, Marie, Willaine and Edwin are attentive and responsive and always taking care of things. It's always nice when CNA Scheduler Jean or Nurse Clara stop my dad in the hallway and say hello and cheer him up. I know I can count on CNA’s Rose (both Roses), Antonine, and Sergina to get things done when I mention something to them. And CNA's Gerda, Patricia, and Anne brighten the day by going the extra mile. It's a team effort and there are too many people to list here. Suffice to say, Terrace of Delray are my people. Highly recommend! EDIT TO ADD: There's a lot of "I" in this post because, I'm going to be real here...it's A TEAM Effort to have a loved one in a Nursing Home. I've been around, and this doesn't apply to just the Terrace of Delray. My dad isn't always able to effectively communicate his needs to staff so I have to be able to visit him and advocate for him. I'm glad that Terrace of Delray is close by so that I can do that. Together, we are on the same team, ensuring that dad is content, getting the care he needs.

While the employees at Terrace of Delray that I met seemed caring, I have some major concerns. The fact that no one answers the phone is maddening (it just rings and rings, and occasionally connects to a voicemailbox without any outgoing greeting). I get that staffing is stretched, but this is unnacceptable. It is very distressing being out of the area and having a loved one at Terrace of Delray. Their fall prevention policy is utterly absurd. They rely on the "Call, don't fall!" sign (pictured below) posted in the rooms. A good percentage of folks in rehab or long-term care will not have the executive functioning and will be too impulsive to follow that. My loved one racked up a few falls in the first few days there. The nursing facility my loved one was going to next could not reach Terrace of Delray either. The discharge was sudden and without our knowledge. Hopefully you have a better option for yourself or your loved one.
