I have a close relative at Pelican Homes. And from day one I was very happy and impressed with this home. It is not only a clean comfortable space, but I was also very impressed with the owner who is there everyday. My family has her personal cell phone number so there is never a concern that we will not be able to get in touch with the person responsible for our loved ones well being. Also, the staff is friendly, and clearly very passionate about what they do. I have seen the staff and owner take a personal interest not just in the residents healthcare but also in each individual’s likes and hobbies. To see the smile on my uncle’s face while he interacts with them brings such joy to my heart. Me and my family have had such a sense of comfort and relief knowing our loved one is so well taken care. We highly recommend Pelican homes.

Absolutely LOVE The Pelican Homes and their staff! Extremely clean, loving home environment where all the residents are treated with the utmost care and respect, and they have lots of fun too! GeGe and Monette are absolutely fabulous. I frequently visit there as a healthcare representative, myself, and I am constantly amazed at the professionalism the team exudes and the loving compassion that each resident receives. Would recommend any family looking for placement of a loved one to contact The Pelican Homes. They’re the best!

It's heartwarming to see how they genuinely care for each individual. My grandfather has developed a close bond with the caregivers, and it's clear that they treat him like family. Cleanliness and Organization: The cleanliness and organization at The Pelican Homes are truly impressive. They maintain an impeccable living environment for the residents, which reflects their attention to detail and dedication to providing a comfortable and safe space. I particularly appreciate the color-coded closet system for my grandfather's clothes; it's a thoughtful touch that makes life more convenient. Owner Involvement: The open-door policy and active involvement of the owner have been a significant source of comfort for us. The owner's accessibility and detail-oriented approach in sharing daily service plans and vital sign logs before doctor appointments demonstrate a commitment to transparency and communication. Celebrations and Events: The Pelican Homes doesn't just provide care; they create a sense of community. The birthday parties they organize for the residents, complete with music, delicious cake, decorations, and the resident's favorite meal, are heartwarming and truly special. Alert! Do not send your loved ones to this facility. Here is our 3 day experience: NOTE: I am just posting this now since they didn’t have google reviews set up in January 2023 so I had to originally post on a biz media account. The 2 owners do not communicate with each other. Room promised was filthy from construction dust/dirt Rate was increased $500 on day of arrival Inability to provide receipt to customer I cleaned the room and bathroom to ensure sanitation The aides are given no information about patient care Aides are not receptive to getting to know patients The aides do not know how to transfer patients Water not offered unless family asks for the patient No table in living room so patients need to hold water They cover patients with damp blankets Dirty towels and washcloths provided Bed was fully made with urine soaked sheets No lift chairs; broken recliner No arms on dining room chair to assist with transfers Aides want patients to eat in recliner or bed Aides using cell phone while walking with patients No record of patients bowel movements/urination 1 owner lives in mississippi and rarely comes The other owner tries but limited by family obligations We pulled my dad out on day 3 when one of the aides had an outburst of frustration in front of me after i told her about a dirty washcloth, asking for a clean one. At that point i feared for my dads safety. Later, my dad said to me that he was scared. It can only get better from here. It is a new facility, completely mis-managed and not ready to house patients who need care. They need better, more practical equiipment for this population, well-trained highly paid aides with expectation of impeccable customer service, more nurses on staff, better staff communicaton and professionalism.
