My mother stayed at this nursing home and I cannot say enough good things about our experience. The entire staff was genuinely caring, patient, and attentive. They treated her with dignity and compassion every day. The facility is always very clean and has a fresh, calm feeling when you walk in — which says a lot. Mr. Prince in particular was always cleaning and mopping with such care and pride, and it truly made the place feel cared for from the ground up. The nurses and caregivers were gentle with my mother and took time to talk to her, listen to her, and make sure her needs were met. It never felt rushed or transactional. They understood that families worry when they can’t be there all the time, and they made sure we always felt welcome and informed. I am truly grateful for the love and attention my mother received there. They provided not just care, but comfort and peace during a very important time. Highly recommend.

After a fall, we knew our mother needed to move to a nursing home and there was no question about where to move her: Colonial Oaks. She spent some time there recovering after surgery years ago so we knew that the place was clean and comfortable. And then there’s the staff. They have gone above and beyond our expectations. Meghan, the director of nursing, is always available and really cares. Paula the social worker alleviated all our worries and took care of confusing paperwork. Nurse Keion, Pam at the desk, Ollie, Colleen in the office, and so many more. It’s a community where Rashana keeps the residents busy, Dee makes some really good food, and Mr. James keeps the floors sparkling.

Everyone from the office personal to the housekeeping were very sweet and loving to my mother and all my family, would never have moved her if it were not for the distance we had to drive to visit her. Now she is near to us. I will miss many from there, I promise to visit when I'm in to see my Aunt. Would recommend this place very highly.

My husband spent two weeks there. He was admitted around 5:00 PM. He came from a hospital. I had to go home and repack a suitcase for him. By the grace of God i had stopped to get him something to eat. Good thing because at 7:00PM he had not received anything to eat. When I told the nurse he didn’t get any food I was told the kitchen was locked. I then asked for water and again was told the kitchen was locked. The nurse said she could get him a cup of water but not the pitcher. He hadn’t received any water yet. There was a nurse in the other half if my husband’s room. I asked her about water and she said he couldn’t have anything to drink until evaluated by speech therapy. I said he can’t have any water until the next day. She said did he have a stroke. I said no. I then asked her something else and she rudely said you aren’t hearing me. She then said I’m the wound care nurse. All she had to do was say I can’t help you and this is who you need to speak to. No reason for her incredible unkind and uncaring attitude. A little while later a nurse did bring a large pitcher with a straw with water. She was kind and went out of her way to provide him with this pitcher . She told me she had a key to the kitchen but she had to wait until none of the other workers saw her get the water because she didn’t want them to know she had a key to the kitchen.My husband’s remote control for the tv was broken. I went to nurses desk and told a young woman at the nurses station it was broken. She told me maintenance wouldn’t be here until tomorrow. Another nurse looked at the remote and got it to work. My husband was supposed to be admitted to skilled nursing. He was admitted to the nursing home. Needless to say I was really upset. The next morning Paula, the case manager, came to talk to me. She said she was told that I said that I had been promised that my husband would be admitted to skilled nursing. She said she spoke to the staff to see who had told me this. She no one had told me that. I told her I never said that. I couldn’t have said it because I didn’t even know that be admitted to nursing home side of the facility was a possibility. She said my husband would be moved to skilled nursing of Friday and he would have a much better room. Had I known that he could be admitted to nursing home unit until a bed opened up in skilled nursing I wouldn’t have been upset. Paula was so kind and caring she was a ray of light in that facility. Most of the CNA’s were very caring. Barbara was especially kind and caring and always ready to help in anyway she could. There was also a young CNA, I don’t know her name, that was very caring. She worked the morning shift. Most of the nurses made you feel as though you were bothering them when you asked questions. Jada the PA was incredibly rude. I believe the PT’s were really trying to help people. There were too many people doing PT at one time. They really couldn’t meet my husband’s needs. I was in the process of looking at other facilities to move my husband to. Thankfully we had an appointment with my husband’s neurosurgeon and when he saw my husband’s condition he put in directly into the hospital to try and get him into inpatient rehab. I was so happy that my husband would not have to return to that place. The food in this facility was horrible and lacked any nutritional value. I’m not sure how legally they could serve such trash to people. I was blessed to be able to bring my husband food. This is a long post by I would strongly recommend that you not put a loved one in this facility.

Our sincere gratitude and thanks to Colonial Living for the amazing physical therapy that allowed my mother to walk and return home again. The staff from therapy, household cleaning, patient care services, and even the kitchen cooks were all great at the jobs through the effort, care There efforts to help others were always obvious. The nursing home rooms were always being cleaned and smell good every time I went.The staff works hard nonstop here. My mom Ms Jane made friends here and by the end shared tears with nurses when she left because she could never say thank you enough for all they did to help her heal. Thank you Colonial for everything you did.🩷😊
