I am deeply disappointed and concerned about the quality of care provided at The Oaks. Our experience with this facility has been nothing short of troubling, prompting me to share my thoughts to help others make informed decisions. During our interactions and observations at The Oaks, our family witnessed and reported an alarming incident of horrifying verbal abuse (by her nurse Julianna) that left us gravely concerned for the well-being of not only our family member, but all its residents. Despite raising serious concerns, the response from the administrator (Daniel) was unprofessional, careless and dismissive, raising serious doubts about the effectiveness of oversight and accountability measures in place. In response, I filed a complaint with the La. Board of Health and much to my dismay there were no consequences. I have since escalated the complaint further because I will NOT accept the lack of transparency, discipline and blatant disregard in the safety of our elderly who are largely unable to defend or advocate for themselves in these situations. I strongly caution prospective residents and their families to exercise great caution when considering The Oaks. The safety, dignity, and well-being of elderly residents should be paramount, yet my experience suggests that these fundamental values may not be adequately upheld at this facility. Thankfully, our family member has moved to a different location where she is very happy and no longer afraid of the people who are there to provide care for her.

I can’t thank the Oaks and nursing staff enough for the care they gave to Mr McCarty and the patients and kindness to Mrs McCarty. When your spouse leaves this world it means so much to have people that are kind and loving in such a heart crushing time. ♥️

Almost hate to go home. My first day and every one following, ppl introduced themselves to me and asked if I needed anything. Private room and bathroom and window unit to control temp to my comfort. Meals were good except for. A couple of times. Skilled physical therapy and occupational therapy. Residents friendly as well.
