My sister was here. An occasional nurse was good, the remainder had an attitude like they were doing a favor to do any care. My sister was paralyzed after a back surgery. She had a small bag of personal things 6hat she could reach. It included a small pair of sisissors and they took it away. She felt helpless. Facility was nice but staff was bad.

This facility IS DANGEROUS!!! They sent my grandmother ALONE to st Dominic’s with Pneumonia, a UTI, kidney failure, and NEGLECTED HER so she went into heart failure and DIED the next day. They had someone else in her room by the afternoon and all her beautiful things were shoved in a box in the hallway like common trash. They let her die right before thanksgiving.

My grandmother was here twice, and I would never recommend any one I know to leave a loved one here. The first time was following a stroke, and she lost muscle control of her neck. She complained daily of headaches because no one ever came to lift her head up and give her some type of support. I would visit her through her bedroom window due to Covid, and she would always be slumped over in the most uncomfortable looking positions. I had to flag down and ask the staff a few times to sit her up and I would see them huff about moving her to a better position. We pulled her out of this nursing home bc she looked miserable. We ended up having to send her back after her health regressed and she needed a peg tube for feeding. I went to visit her and she acted like she was scarred of the staff. We were preparing to bring her home, but my uncle was needing about one week to make arrangements to set up in home care. The day she passed, our family arrived for visitation and was notified right then after they went to get her ready for visitation that she was not breathing well and asked if we wanted her transported via ambulance to the hospital. Of course we said yes, but how does a facility that is paid to monitor your loved ones State allow someone’s oxygen levels to drop to 60% And never notify you? She looked horrible and was unable to speak at this point. Her blood pressure was extremely low when she arrived at St. D. She would have died ALONE struggling for air here if no one in my family would have arrived for visitation. Not to mention, we find out she died of DEHYDRATION. How does a facility that charges your family astronomical amounts for “skilled nursing” staff allow someone that has a peg tube die of dehydration?! She should have received fluids via tube. In my opinion, that is negligence. I told my neighbor about this situation and she said her grandmother was staying there and complained that the facility was never giving her fluids either and that her grandmother warned them she would die there if the family kept her there. My neighbor said my story was “divine intervention” and that her family was going to pull their grandmother out the next week. This is the third story I have heard about beside my grandmother’s that had poor experiences with this facility. My advice, do your homework on places like this. We exhausted my family’s savings at a place that allowed her to die in pain and fear.

I was there twice yesterday and found all the staff helpful and sincerely interested in caring for the residents. The facility was clean and safety protocols seemed to be followed. The only thing I would suggest would be a better patient to staff ratio.

Administration was great about getting her in as a patience and painted a rosy picture, After getting my mom checked in to room the staff that is suppose to help and check on her was very lazy and apparently don't like there job! They said all the time they where under staffed and to busy to help but most time they where standing around nurse station gossiping and leaving patience unattended... Especially when it came to changing diapers and getting them to restroom when needed. Unless I had no choice I would not recommend any one there period.. All they care about is insurance money and not caring about people in need of care. They also did not get her rehab completed due to laziness and we had to move her to another center.. When the Medicaid 100 days payout is up they tell you you have to find somewhere else to go and its not there problem...
