My mother recently moved out of the Mansions after being a resident for 6.5 years. My mom had begun experiencing some age-related confusion, mostly mixing up days and nights, coming for meals at the wrong time. Instead of following what I've since learned was the protocol (i.e. calling the family for a conference, discussing options, etc), the director sent an email to my brother and I letting us know mom needed to move. My brother called the director and she expected mom to move ASAP. So instead of a little confusion, we had to move a 91 year old woman to a new place where she knew no one in a matter of weeks. This was very upsetting for all of us, but especially Mom, who is showing many more signs of confusion with all of the changes. She's shed many tears over being kicked out. Several residents have contacted me to share their surprise at the turn of events and to also share their personal stories of the bullying by the director. This is no way to treat a 91 year old woman who has contributed to a community for 6.5 years.
