The Loft at Beach Cities is a memory care community in Redondo Beach, California, located just half a mile from the ocean and nestled between Manhattan Beach and the Palos Verdes Peninsula. The community is dedicated entirely to the care of people living with dementia and specializes in enriching life for the memory impaired.
The community offers three care neighborhoods that provide varying levels of care for residents at different stages of dementia. Nexus serves early-stage residents at higher cognitive levels who are more independent, Enrichment supports residents in transitory stages, and a third neighborhood serves residents in later stages who may have lost the ability to communicate verbally and require a high degree of assistance with activities of daily living. All caregivers complete a dementia care certification program requiring 40 hours of classroom and hands-on training.
Clinical oversight is provided by a physician medical director, a masters-level social worker, and 24-hour licensed nurses. The community features Nexus, an internationally recognized, evidence-based brain health program that is a non-drug approach designed to improve cognition and function for persons in the earlier stages of living with dementia. The program combines science and social engagement to support an active, brain-healthy lifestyle.
The Loft at Beach Cities provides a wide range of amenities and activities focused on the needs of individuals with dementia, including weekly baking and cooking clubs led by the Director of Culinary Services. The community organizes outings such as visits to Veterans Park in Redondo Beach, supporting residents' engagement in the local South Bay community.
The community has received recognition including a world-class Net Promoter Score of 90 from US News and World Report, and verified Silverado families voted the community to the exclusive "Best Memory Care" list for the second time.
