They have beautiful facilities, but unfortunately in my family’s experience, we felt that the care overall was lacking and mismanaged at every level. My grandmother fell while a patient here, and the registered nurse practitioner over her care refused to allow her for x-rays leaving her in extreme pain. Do not trust your loved ones to stay here!

I do not recommend putting anyone you love at this place, My granny was put here for rehabilitation after hip surgery she never made it back home after that, she was dropped Because only one care giver was there to help her from bathroom back to bed and she let her fall an hurt the other leg, also night shift caregiver brought her kid to work with her an he was loud playing with a basketball in common area an it was after 9pm when i had to go out there to check on her because i couldnt get a care giver to answer the phone there.she was face down when they found her my granny never slept on her stomach or side especially after a hip surgery an having the other leg injured by the lack of care an them dropping her . So they didnt know why she was face down . Biggest mistake my family ever made letting her go there

My grandmother was put here after hip surgery to recover and instead of recovering an coming home she died there, she was dropped by the care giver 1 nurse instead of 2 while walking back to her bed ,that caused the leg that did not have surgery swell twice the size of leg that just had a hip replacement. We was told it was fine. On night shift a nurse had her kids there running around in sitting area while she was on the clock working.they also found my grandmother almost turned all the way face down she was 83 and in her right mind she could barely move because of the pain of both her legs so there was no way she would have been sleeping on stomach or even on her side she was there a little over a week before they called an said she was being taking hospital but she was already dead. August made it 2years since this happened

I had the pleasure of visiting this facility in February. As I walked into one of the beautiful houses, I was treated like a valued guest by the staff. Many paused to greet me and share their connection to Green House cottages with obvious pride. It was not a show. I was already a huge fan of the Green House philosophies! After a few shockingly bad experiences in short term stays my mom experienced, my "what the heck is going on" research led me to the list Resident's Rights, the Eden Project and Green House Cottages. My mother and I had (and continue to have) a complex set of circumstances. Care giving long distance with a chronic illness while trying to extract her from a controlling family member set on exhausting all of her resources. An opportunity was approaching. Not well enough to travel (mom wants to be near me where we all lived for many years) and I had two choices. I made the wrong one. Rison is a ways out there and I was worried about visits. She rarely to never got them and I hoped to change that while I worked to orchestrate a move. The new Little Rock location was all set "She'll be one of the 1st 10 Residents (Elders) in the 1st house"! Timing and my lack of knowledge in procedure I guess (still not exactly sure) saw those plans disappear. I went with the choice "closer in" in Sheridan. It is one of approximately six or seven houses with an at least one to three ratio of CNA care to "Patient" as they call them. They have extra "specialized training in Alzheimer's care" I was told and It's right there printed in their brochures. NOT this location! All to be discovered after the moving process began! I had already extended my stay twice but considered staying and renting a place for the two of us until she was safely in a Green House Facility! My heart is still completely broken. Placement is complicated everywhere but face stricter rules here I'm finding. There is one place adopting Green House policies that cost more than we have and does not take Medicaid/MediCal. My tour of Rison was given by the delightful Assistant Director of Nursing, The D.O.N. greeted me smiling and breathless then she was back to her engagement with the Elders. She let me know I was important to her, but more importantly, that those in her care came first! Please do not make my mistake(s)!! If you can get into a Green House Cottage Home for your loved one, go for it! The blur in the background is the DON! Foreground Assistant DON (need to look up names).
