My mom has been at the Addison memory care for about 6 months. I just visited from out of state and found the staff to be very friendly and accommodating. I did have some concerns however. Her room had a very foul urine smell; her bedding and several pairs of pants were soiled. Her toenails were incredibly long and none of this was noticed. So I do have some concerns on how her self care, hygiene, and room cleanliness are managed. Also, other residents frequently walk into her room uninvited and this is very stressful for my mom.

From management, to reception, to nurses and support staff—all have proven to be friendly, compassionate and competent. The facility is clean and is constantly decorated for special events.Lots of activities are available onsite and offsite. And the quality of the meals and snacks are awesome!

Making the decision to place my father in a memory care community was one of the most difficult choices I've ever had to make. My father is 89 years old and living with late-stage Alzheimer's disease. I cared for him at home for the last 10 years, and when I realized I could no longer provide the level of care he needed, I was heartbroken.
The Addison of Gwinnett Park was recommended to me by a member of his hospice team, and I am incredibly grateful for that recommendation. Since moving there, my father has truly thrived. Before, he was mostly limited to moving from his chair to his bed. Now, he is walking around, socializing with others, and receiving the around-the-clock care and support he needs.
The staff and management have been exceptional. They have treated both my father and me like family, showing genuine compassion, patience, and dedication every step of the way. Their teamwork, communication, and commitment to residents are remarkable.
I cannot say enough positive things about The Addison of Gwinnett Park. Knowing that my father is safe, cared for, and enjoying a better quality of life has brought me tremendous peace of mind. I highly recommend this community to any family facing the challenges of caring for a loved one with memory loss.

My wife and I visited this community to tour for my Father-in-Law. We had to tour with a different person than who my wife spoke with since it was a Saturday. The person that gave us the tour just seemed uninterested. We walked slowly through the halls. There was no organization to the tour. She showed us a residents room which was a red flag for us. Why would you show us a residents rooms? What about their privacy? She then showed us an empty room (which was the exact floor plan we were looking for). One part of the building was warm and stink. It smelt horrible as we walked through that hallway.
We were able to ask questions on certain things as we did the tour. Something that stood out was when we asked how often do they check on the residents. The lady said the residents in assisted living are pretty independent so they don’t regularly check on them. She said a few times how the residents are independent. Well not all residents are independent. Someone may need to be checked on more than others. This also was a turn off. We need a facility that doesn’t see assisted living as independent living; that they’re understanding each resident has different needs and that they are able to speak to it.

We expected the tour to start off with a sit down to talk about what we needed and wha they offered. It did not start that way, ok fine. At the end, we did get a folder with papers in it to take home and review. This was just different from what other facilities did.

Then we had to check out. As we were checking out, someone was there to assist. The machine asked us to do a review and before we could select the star ratings ourselves, the lady said she was giving all 5 stars and joked how she told someone if we gave 3 stars they couldn’t leave.
They did NOT deserve 5 stars. But this alone makes us skeptical in this facilities ratings in other sites because the staff did the review for us.

After our tour, we can see why those that rated low gave those ratings. I also noticed how they have several 5 stars ratings all given around the same time. Seems weird…. But for us, it’s a no.
