Sunrise senior living was leagues better. Hemsley cut corners, had most of the good staff quit on them or fired, and quality of care, food, and availability of care plummeted. Do not recommend bringing your elderly here.

I have lived in Colorado Springs for more than 5 years. My auntie lives close to this facility in the University Park community. She has had friends who moved into the facility when it was sunrise. She still goes and visits 1 friend, now that it is Hemsley House. I have gone a few times to visit her friend with her and to see the negative comments from people on here make me sad. The facility is really nice, the people who greet you when walking in are very kind. The residents, and my Auntie's BFF all seem very happy! I think people need to look at the bigger picture and be kind. The residents' that live there are safe and happy. Regardless of the name on the side of the building. God Bless.

When this building was managed by Sunrise, it fostered a strong sense of community, with a warm and supportive atmosphere for both staff and residents. Since the transition, the environment has become noticeably more impersonal and, at times, discouraging. Staff members appear consistently overextended, and when asked about organizational support, many express that they receive little to none. There is a prevailing sentiment among employees that they are neither respected nor adequately appreciated for their efforts. This strain has also affected residents, who report feeling undervalued and often experience extended wait times for assistance. Contributing factors include high acuity levels combined with low occupancy staffing ratios, as well as limited visible support from management. Overall, these challenges have significantly impacted both staff morale and the quality of the resident experience.

Hemsley House is a unique and spacious community, nice size apartment, and cozy common areas, From the time I stepped into the community I was greeted with a smile and warm welcoming. The community is clean, I had a lunch tour and let me just say the food is amazing. Highly recommend for your loved one.
