My mother was discharged from here in the Subacute unit in February but we loved the experience here, all the way from the CNA’s, the Secretary, Nurses, and Physcial therapy, were all helpful! Our mom is doing great ! Thank you St Johnland

They take good care of the residents in the nursing home. They have good food for them and activities on the calendar every day. They have music, arts and crafts, and games for the residents. They even have patios for the residents to sit outside in the fresh air and enjoy a BBQ when the weather is warm. I definitely recommend St. Johnland. Both of my parents were in 5 different nursing homes for rehab in Suffolk County. My dad is now at St. Johnland permanently and I would have to say that it's been the best. The staff has been great.

The direct support staff is generally Ok so I give them the 2 stars. The administration is heartless, manipulative & mean. They evicted my father for behavior that was related to dementia on top of depression due to the loss of his wife of almost 70 years. They blindsided us & then lied straight faced to us at a "care team" meeting for our father. My father was supposed to be evaluated at SBU, but while being evaluated at SBU, SJL evicted him. Tossed him out. They never had any intention of letting him come back. Our dad died a month later (4/16/25) & I blame the administration, social work department, head nurse & doctors. They broke the heart & the spirit of a relatively healthy man who was loved by his family but required the care & supervision promised by SJL. We regret ever admitting our father to SJL. They should be ashamed but I doubt they are. My name is Suzin Z.

My 100 year old aunt was discharged from the hospital after recovering from double pneumonia. She was very weak and could no longer walk or get out of a chair on her own. She couldn’t eat on her own. She was transferred to St Johnlands Nursing center. They took wonderful care of her. A big shoutout to the Nurses, the Aids and especially the folks in Rehab especially Edwin. After several weeks of intensive PT and OT, she fought her way back and was able to get up out of the chair and start walking with her walker. The kitchen staff were great. She picked her menus each week from the Dietician’s recommendations. She loved the food. The shining star was her Social Worker Briana. She looked over my aunt like she was her mother. My Aunt is alive and well back in St Johnlands Assisted Living, enjoying her friends and the great care she receives there. We are so blessed and thankful for the care she received.

Horrible dirty understaffed and supervising nurses on shift are not helpful at all in fact they are quite nasty especially Michelle. Sarah the aid broke HIPAA law by discussing other patients health problems. Every time there was a door closed and an aide was supposedly doing something an,every time caught with their phones in their hands, they should not be allowed to have their phones with them on shift it might help the understaffing problems my mother had gone in with no cuts and came out with both her legs mutilated that they had to be wrapped in gauze for months and they also did not recognize a stroke and when I demand in an ambulance the first thing they said was she needed to go to a stroke trauma unit immediately so I wouldn't trust any nurses either. They'd rather leave their patients in diapers cuz it's easier than getting them up to go to the bathroom which guy makes the body decline from not being moved as much. I wouldn't bring my dog there
