I would like to give this facility a zero, but of course this is not possible. My sister suffered a severe stroke and brain bleed. She was placed in Anna House for rehab. I am writing this review to report several serious incidents concerning the care of my sister while residing in this facility. I have grave concerns regarding staff competence and patient safety. Recently, my sister experienced two severe hypoglycemic episodes requiring emergency transfers. In the first instance, her blood sugar dropped below 30, causing her to lose consciousness. A few weeks later, it dropped to 29, accompanied by profuse sweating. On both occasions, nursing staff administered insulin despite the fact that she had not eaten her meals. Additionally, my sister has fallen twice while under Anna House care. Furthermore, a nurse recently attempted to administer her medication whole. Due to a brain bleed, my sister is on a pureed food diet and was unable to verbally remind the nurse that her medication must be crushed and mixed with applesauce. Given these critical failures, I have lost confidence in the safety and care provided by this facility. I hope this review helps others to choose wisely for their family members, meaning do not choose Anna House for anyone in your family or close friends.

My grandma and grandpa both went here. They both enjoyed their time very much. I’ve spent a lot of time here and have always been impressed and happy my grandparents have been so comfortable. They always have plenty of activities, which my grandma surely loved!

I will start by saying they deserve zero stars. My mother in law was sent there for rehab. They were disrespectful to my whole family. The place was dirty and felt like old people were sent here to die. After 12 hours in this place, they never checked her vitals, no water or ice was given and she had shortness of breath. She was told to take deep breaths. Needless to say we went and got her after she said she felt unsafe. Do not leave your elderly parents here.

My mom broke her hip and was sent to Anna House for PT. Mom has dementia and has special needs. We were told that someone would be able to spend the nights with her, and we did for two nights. Then at 10.00 pm my father was told he could not be there and had to immediately leave. He had no way home, so they let him stay. The only reason we sent her there was we were told he could. We explained that mom will get up at night. They said they would keep an eye on her. A half hour after we left, she tried to get up and fell, hitting her head. They rushed her to the ER and is being checked out for head injuries.

The Anna house has MAJOR problems. There seems to be NO accountability for the staff and the care they provide (rather lack of care). They don't communicate with the family (POA) very well, nor do they keep up with their charting and documentation. They are not transparent with what is really going on with our loved one. What's really sad is that the Sarah Community is primarily for retired religious sisters who do not have family/children looking after them to ensure that they are being cared for and thus they are at the mercy of the staff. I can only pray that they are not neglected and abused like my loved one was. My loved one said it is like a prison. Before covid, when the family could be there with my loved one and really see what was going on, the care wasn't great (non-responsive when my loved one needed to use rest-room or be transitioned to bed - waiting, 2+ hours for someone to help), and since covid it only got worse. This is not how the elderly deserves to be treated!
