The staff is always cheerful, and will join my brother and me for a quick chat. The owners are very approachable and stay in touch. It is certainly worth a tour~small & cozy. I am pleased with the job they do.

My father had dementia and suffered a fall that resulted in his inability to care for himself in any capacity. We are so grateful that my father was able to find a place at Spanish Oak. He was very content and happy here. He was very well cared for and attended to. My mother visited him everyday while here and it felt so comfortable for her to be there with him. 9 months after being here he passed away and the staff here were so kind to my mother and my family. If you have a loved one that needs significant care and has dementia, this is a very calm and peaceful place for them to be.

My sister recently became a Spanish Oak resident. She feels safe, cared for, and listened to. She likes the staff. They take the time to adjust her meals to accommodate her diabetic diet. Her home health care nurse has also commented on the excellent care she is receiving. I would recommend Spanish Oak for anyone needing residential care.

We placed a loved one here with Dementia and it went very badly, the facility was overwhelmed and when I would call to check on my loved one, more than one time, the person on the phone got my loved one confused with another resident who was also new. We removed our loved one a placed them at a memory care facility after one week. We were able to see the drastic difference in care, patience, respect and professionalism of the new memory care facility. This experience happened Summer 2020 and I write this as a warning to other families who are looking to place a loved one here, because we feel we made it very very clear through written and spoken word that our loved one needed a high level of cognitive assistance, and the owner made the decision to accept them. Even once we had made arrangements to move our loved one to the new facility the owner at Spanish Oaks offered to hired an extra caregiver for a higher monthly fee. He may have been trying to help, but it would seem like that he would know when to quit when employees don’t have the training to assist an individual with dementia. It is my opinion that this facility cannot manage Dementia patients based on our experience. 2/15/2022 UPDATE to add that after being in the facility a short time, my loved one had CUTS, GASHES and BRUISES on their arms. We were NEVER told that they had any injuries, we were told that there were times when they were combative, but they never reported the injuries to us. As stated above, Phillip even offered to keep them longer if we paid more. WHY? would he say to keep her there if his staff is restraining to the point of injury, why on earth would a professional caregiver take that on knowingly? I regret trusting Phillip, I believed all the nice good things he said. They were only words, and money is what is matters to him. My loved one was never the same after their short stay at this awful place.
