Terrible place, abusive to staff, unsanitary, take your loved ones elsewhere. Edit: Funny that the response from the owner was not to deny these being true, but rather ask how I am familiar with the nursing home. It does not matter how I am familiar. It just matters that I know you let dogs crap in the hallways and eat off the same plates as the residents.

It’s a HOME for your family when they can no longer stay in their own. The staff delivers personal care with knowledge and compassion. The interaction between the staff and residents mirrors that of a large extended family. No one truly wants to put family into a nursing facility but the staff at Skiatook Nursing Home makes the unbearable doable.

My mom entered Skiatook nursing home Feb of 2020. She had dementia and I could no longer take care of her by myself. I had no clue on what to do or how to do it. Sherrie in the office told me what I needed to do and how. She was very helpful to me and my mom. When I brought her in the room was very clean and they had her bed made and ready. We were able to decorate her room however we wanted to make her feel more at home. The staff treated her very well and she really liked their food. When the time came to put her on hospice it was really hard, but they have the best hospice workers there. They took really good care of my mom. She loved all the activates they did and all the churches that came in to sing and preach.

My mom was placed a month ago today. She has extreme special medical needs that requires 24/7 attention. They staff its EXTREMELY helpful. Starting with Melissa the administrator, the nurses, all the way to laundry, aids and volunteers. We attended a meeting with other families of residents and the only complaint (suggestion) was if someone would help put in and take out her father's hearing aids, so he doesn't loose them and can hear her when she calls. Any time I have asked for help on anything, they have done there best to accommodate. They have gone above and beyond helping me get her settled. If she is not at bingo they go get her. I am there almost everyday at all different times. I have a very high sense of smell, and the only time I have really smelt much in the home is in the mornings, but it looked like hotel check out. I was pleasantly surprised to see they were VERY busy with cleaning carts everywhere. Mopping, cleaning people, and changing linens. Before placing her, I visited others and left there crying. This place is small and older, but I believe the quality of care given is AMAZING. I have sat in the dining area and watched them feed the people that need help. They all seem to have great patience and love with everyone. It is a tough job and takes very special people to work in this field. No one wants to move their loved ones away from their homes, but I trust the staff completely.

I cried so hard after seeing the condition they are keeping my grandma in. While the mobile patients seemed happy and well cared for, my relative is getting no attention at all. With terminal cancer, my active grandma had a fall two weeks ago. Now she is unable to even pick up a glass. Three days in a row I have come, personally filled her water cup which is obviously not filled by anyone else. The days in a row I have given her the only drinks she has had, they bring her tea every day but she cannot pick up the glass to drink, she told me she asks several times a day for help drinking and they always tell her they will come back but they don't. When I confronted the nurse she said, I quote, "I have her a drink yesterday" this was at 5pm. She cannot eat because they won't put her dentures in, they do have meal replacement drinks there but they have nerve given her one, when I asked about this I was told "she doesn't want to eat".her hospice nurse visited today and was appalled at a severe bed sore, very bad, that's not being treated. And they have not moved her or cleaned her since she got there 10 days ago. They refuse to dress her in her own clothes she had asked many times. She is in the same hospital gown from the night she got there. The hospice nurse spent 5 minutes there and called us saying she has got to get out of there. The staff seemed really great, but if they can't take care of sick people they should not take them in. We have provided the bulk of her care during visits. So sad. You people should be ashamed, and put out of business or just say you can not care for immobile patients.
