Shell Harbor is an all-inclusive independent senior living community for adults 55 and older located in Rockledge, Florida, in Brevard County near the Indian River. The community offers resort-style living with all services and amenities included in one monthly rent with no buy-in fees, long-term leases, or hidden charges.
The community features chef-prepared meals through its Signature Freedom Dining program, offering three nutritious meals daily at flexible hours plus a Chef's Pantry with sandwiches, pizzas, burgers, and grab-and-go snacks. All apartment homes include full kitchens, spacious closets, and walk-in showers with safety features, along with options for patios or balconies. Rent covers housekeeping, 24/7 service, and access to all amenities.
Activities and programs include fitness classes, card games, movies, workshops, live entertainment, a movie theater, billiards room, and social events throughout the week. Residents also have access to an on-site bank, pharmacy, gift shop, and salon on a fee basis. The RLC Travel Program allows residents to stay free in guest suites at sister communities across the country.
For residents needing additional support, the community facilitates connections with third-party in-home healthcare providers, allowing residents to age in place while maintaining their independent lifestyle. On-site services include therapy, doctors, and a pharmacy to help reduce stress.

My husband and I moved into Shell Harbor when it opened. My husband has since passed away. We were both happy here and were so glad we made this choice. Now after almost 5 years and being a widow, I am really grateful for Shell Harbor. Good friends and our managers right now, are the best we have had. They are our friends. Shell Harbor is exactly what they say. They are welcoming, kind and caring. The experience my Dad and our family has been exceptional. I do not believe you can find a better facility. Thank you to all for everything you do. Highly recommend!!

The new computer system for all of RLC is definitely not an enhancement to daily living in the RLC Communities. It is apparent to us, the residents at Shell Harbor, that there was NO consultation with RLC residents or staff as to what was needed, what worked, what didn't work, what needed to be changed, or what worked fine. Some IT engineers (or group) decided, based on their lack of knowledge and experience living in an RLC community, have made decisions about the new system which do not enhance, but make our daily lives more difficult. For example, we knew on Saturday evening what the next week's movies were, who had birthdays or anniversaries on what day, and we could plan accordingly. Not any longer! ALWAYS solicit input from end users and support staff before designing replacement systems. ALWAYS test, test, test before releasing a new system. Obviously, none of this was done. I believe RLC has a good corporate model. We have been very pleased with most aspects of life at Shell Harbor since we took up residence almost 19 months ago, but this new computer system has forced most residents here to take a giant step backwards. Sorry folks, that is not progress or change for the better.

Since becoming Residents of Shell Harbor in October of '24, we've had such great experiences! My wife LOVES ❤️ the No meal planning, NO Cooking & No Clean Up and the kitchen staff & servers are excellent! Meals are always top notch! My wife is now Leading Crafting Classes twice a month & is in her element!! We've made several new friends which is also awesome! I've traveled using the availability of the Guest Suites at two other resorts in Las Vegas!! It was awesome!! Everything went smoothly with no hiccups! There's plenty of great activities to keep us all busy during the week and theme's a strong veterans group here also with great activities!

My mother has been a resident at shell harbor for almost 3 years. She has been very happy in her new home. She has made many new friends and loves the ambiance of shell harbor as well as the staff. The entire staff is very accomadating to the residence needs and always with a smile on their face. They always do their best to fulfill all special requests. When I moved my mom to Florida, I took her to 10 independent living facilities, and shell harbor was the last one she looked at. As soon as she walked in and walked around, she told me this is it. The interior is very inviting and the concierge and activities director decorate to the nines for all holidays and special events. I can mention so many staff by name for their helpfulness and kindness, but I will only name one at this time. Mary the activity director is a go getter. She is always busy , organizing games or classes, driving the bus to lunch/dinner/theater/concert outings, running happy hour, setting up for special event dinners and booking acts or speakers to entertain the residence. She is an asset to the RLC communities and especially shell harbor. I visit mom 3-4 times a week and participate in many of shell harbor events. I have been asked many times if I am a resident. 😂. Nobody knows what the future holds, so I tell them, maybe someday. Richard
