I felt obligated to do a review on this facility since there are so many memory care/assisted living facilities in Florida and with a high senior population, sharing our experiences is important. In the beginning, the staff they had in January 2026 were compassionate and genuinely cared for my mother, not that some of the current ones aren't compassionate and caring, but at that time took more pride in their care for ma. The Wellness Director was friendly and seemed like a take charge person in the beginning. The Lifestyles Director was exceptional from the time my mom became a resident to the time I moved her out. The food was decent and she was allowed to have seconds in the beginning. The countryside feel and the large suites were also positives which made us decide to put our mom with Serenades. Things were good for about the first 3 months and then I started noticing things that I found concerning. My sister had complained about how the bathroom was not being cleaned and it was addressed with the Wellness Director. Then I started noticing the smell of urine in her room and this smell was there from the time I started noticing it in May until she moved out in July. I did bring it up with an aide and she told me that her urine was concentrated and that's why the room smells. I looked at her in disbelief. Her sheets/clothes needed to be washed on a regular basis (which wasn't being done) and the room needed to be disinfected. The only housekeeper that santitized her room and kept it vacuumed along with the bathroom cleaned left the facility so after that the condition of the room declined so I had to address this with the Executive Director, since the Wellness Director wasn't much help. Another big concern was her hygiene care. They would dress her in the morning and not wash her face or aid her with brushing her teeth before taking her to breakfast. I noticed her teeth getting brown and asked the staff about this but no one could tell me when was the last time her teeth were cleaned. I did ask the Wellness Director about it and she was supposed to handle it and never did anything so that left me with no other choice but to talk to the Executive Director and request a meeting to address this.  The thought of her eating her food and talking to people in there for months without her teeth being cleaned made upset and sad. Another concern was her safety since my mother was a fall risk which again seemed to fall on deaf ears but with persistence the Wellness Director did put up signs to secure a wheelchair near the bed which I found out later was considered a restraint. I asked for ideas to keep her safe like possibly lowering her hospital bed at night but never received any response from the Wellness Director. I decided that due to the above issues that it would be best to move her out. The last week before I took my mother out of this place I asked one of the aides if she would wash her clothes since they had stunk of urine and were piling up in the closet. I had paid for the entire month of July so they should have washed them. The next day as I was moving her furniture out it still smelled of urine soaked sheets so they never washed her clothes (see attached). If you decide to bring your loved one to this facility, please keep very close eyes on them and make sure you are getting the care you paid for your precious elderly loved ones.

With each visit I am warmly greeted. The The facility has a homelike atmosphere, and is well kept and clean. The staff is outstanding. Residents are well cared for and treated with respect and digninty by all staff. Residents rooms are well taken care of and give a feeling of home. The nursing staff is great, they do their job with the utmost care for each indiviual. There are pleanty of activites for the residents to participate in which helps with mobility and other social skills. I highly reccomend The Serenades.
