Update: The caregiver I had stopped working for them and they did not provide another caregiver or even offer it. When I tried to cancel my services Due to them not being reliable anymore and get my $1200 deposit back, which is required to start services, they did not return my phone calls and did not talk to me anymore. They stole my deposit. It’s been over a month since I have heard from them. Very sad to have to post this as we had a good relationship I thought. I always paid my bills, and we always were gracious when caregivers would not show up. Senior Helpers has an absolutely amazing over the past year and a couple months. After being injured with a spinal cord injury, we had heard stories of nightmares people have had with getting help and the Bakersfield area. Ed met with us, worked hard to understand our needs, and found a caregiver, Kurin, who has become like family and has been very kind to us. they have been very accommodating with any schedule changes and have been There whenever they have agreed to be there. What’s awesome is they have learned our routine and have really helped me settle in with my new lifestyle after being hurt.

I had two months of service with this place. First month, a caregiver was assigned and then quit, and another caregiver was assigned. Then the second month, that caregiver quit too. I canceled the service as my elderly mother needs more stability than this place can provide. It has now been 10 days after paying the final invoice, and they still have not refunded the $840 security deposit that I paid them, even though the contract I signed says "The Caregiving Services deposit will be refunded upon the Client's payment of all amounts due Senior Helpers" and all the invoices from them are marked as being paid in full with no outstanding balance. Avoid this place as they can't seem to retain caregivers and can't fulfill the contractual obligations that they make with people. They have now made false claims that "[their] employees [quit] after complaining about the unsafe work environment at your home" and have said they needed to contact Kern County Adult Protective Services first.

My dad had emergency eye surgery and his wife was on hospice with Alzheimer’s. Senior Helpers assisted with her care and other household duties and after her passing continued assisting my dad with his care, for nearly two years. Their due diligence and attentiveness in providing services was exceptional. Thank you Eddie, Michelle, and all the numerous helpers that were assigned to the task, much appreciated.

If you are looking for a company/family that values family members in need as their own family, then Senior Helpers should be your first call. Senior Helpers helped both my Mother and I when we needed them the most. My mother was in need of 24 hour care and I was in need of some time to get things done for both my Mom and I. Senior Helpers was there on time daily to allow me to get stuff done. They gave my mom companionship while making sure she was eating several times a day, she was getting her medication and was given the help she needed to just accomplish everyday things that we who are healthy, take for granted. The owners of Senior Helpers made it their duty to be a part of my Moms care. They would find caregivers to cover any day of the week, weekend and any times during the week. If they were not able to cover with caregivers, they would cover themselves as they know the importance of the care. Their service was priceless and I would and will recommend them to anyone looking for help in caring for any family member that is in need. Thank you Senior Helpers for all of your compassion and help!

First off, I want to note that I almost never provide online reviews...so the experience has to be either amazing, or really bad. That being said, I have to say that we have been extremely fortunate to work with this great organization and could not be more pleased with the service and professionalism of the entire team. My sister and I are remote and not able to be with our aging parents often, and we're new into this space where our parents increasing need daily task and medical appt support. I'll note three items that really stick out for me...but could go on and on... One - from the beginning I was very impressed with the team as we were evaluating potential companies to provide support services. They struck just the right note between flexibility and professionalism, and particularly impressed with being very knowledgeable about available options to help us potentially offset support costs. Two - They have engaged from the beginning almost as an extension of our family. I mean that from the aspect of from the beginning, they made a few basic safety recommendations to help avoid fall risks. The team has been attentive, great relationship building skills (my parents were initially very hesitant about this service!), and so very, very supportive and accommodating to changing requirements. We've recently had an increate in dr. appt needs, and they (Irma!) has been amazing being so accommodating, and adjusting her busy schedule to help out. Three - they have been so helpful as my sister and I are navigating this space. They identified the primary and secondary needs, execute them with warmth and compassion, and then provide both positive feedback as well as concerns (and don't wait for me to reach out, which I greatly appreciate) for us all to address as a team moving forward. In closing, Senior Helpers has without a doubt improved the quality of life of my parents, for which I am forever in their debt. They have made this a far better experience than I ever could have hoped for. Eddie, Michelle, Irma....you're the best!!!!!
