Do not take your loved ones to this horrible place; the staff who work there lack empathy. They never welcomed us or introduce themselves, they treated us very badly and were very rude from the moment we arrived, they were in a bad mood. I DONT UNDERSTAND HOW PLACES LIKE THIS STILL OPEN. They refused to let us to use a wheelchair to take my mother to the car, we had to use an old wheelchair I had in my car and secure my mom to it with a sheet so she wouldn't fall out, because they refused to lend us one. They treated us inhumanely, even though my mom is a patient with cancer, if they do that while family is present, I can’t imagine what they do when patients are alone. They were highly unprofessional, especially the charge nurse. The manager or person in charge promised us things that were not fulfilled, such as having oxygen ready for my mother. The van that took my mom to that place didn't have air conditioning!! Of course we didn't leave her there. They only care about money.

This place is hell in tucson. Whatever you do, do not place your loved one into this nasty place, they are so short staffed, they do not clean the patient rooms including emptying the trash, for days, until it over flows. They serve horrible food, do not offer menu options, my loved one states there is human hair in the food daily. It is usually served cold and looks and smells like vomit. They serve different food to the patients who can get to the dining room from patients who are room or bed bond. My loved one went days with out eating because of the food quality, and the dining room manager only says they are working on the food. PLEASE RESEARCH AND TOUR ONLY POTENTIAL ALL FACILITIES BEFORE ADMITTING A LOVED ONE HERE! There has to be a better option than Sandstone Estates!

Absolutely horrifying experience. My mother was placed at this facility for what was supposed to be a very short stay while waiting for insurance approval to transfer to an acute care facility. From the moment she arrived, it was clear something was very wrong. Her roommate had to bring and help set up her CPAP and oxygen concentrator, and we were told there were only two staff members working in the entire building. By Monday, her condition had deteriorated so badly that she had to be sent back to the hospital with dangerously low oxygen levels and was incoherent. She does not even remember being here. To make matters worse, the facility has still not been able to locate her very expensive oxygen concentrator. Repeated attempts to get help or answers have gone nowhere, and her roommate has now had to file a police report regarding the missing equipment. This happened during an already terrifying cancer diagnosis and hospitalization, and instead of helping stabilize her, this facility added even more trauma and stress to our family. The lack of communication, apparent understaffing, and inability to account for essential medical equipment is unacceptable. I would strongly caution anyone considering placing a medically fragile loved one here.

Very friendly associates.. Most are extremely helpful and caring individuals.. Rooms are spacious and clean. Cafeteria is large and spacious. Patients may choose to eat here or get their meals delivered to their rooms. Unfortunately the choice's available on the order anything menu are quite difficult to obtain..I found that unfortunately that difficulty was very frustrating..

My mom recently spent a few weeks at Sandstone after a hip replacement and got the most wonderful care. The staff were warm and caring. They needed nudging a couple of times, like anywhere given how busy everyone is. But they really looked after her. Kindly. Also the rooms are great. She stayed here after a fall two years ago and requested Sandstone this time. I visited someone at Park Avenue recently and it was absolutely the opposite. I'll tell anyone that Sandstone is an excellent choice.
