San Rafael Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is a senior living community in Corpus Chrisit, Texas offering Skilled Nursing / Long Term Care. Amenities include Gathering / Activity Spaces, Social Activities and Housekeeping. Families rate it 3.3 out of 5 across 30 reviews.
San Rafael Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is a 168-bed skilled nursing and long-term care facility in Corpus Christi, Texas. It operates under a 3.3-star rating based on 30 Google reviews, with notable variation in family experiences.
Families consistently praise the direct care staff, CNAs, nurses, rehabilitation technicians, and social services, for their attentiveness and compassion. Multiple families highlighted the facility's cleanliness, welcoming atmosphere, and structured activities. One family noted that a staff member named Kim was "very welcoming and loving." Some families reported that residents adjusted well and expressed contentment, and that rehab therapists worked diligently with residents. However, other families raised serious concerns about communication barriers (long hold times, unanswered phones), infection control, neglect of basic care, property security, and inadequate incident reporting and investigation.
The disparity between five-star and one-star reviews suggests highly inconsistent experiences. Some families felt confident in the facility's care, while others reported preventable injuries, missing belongings, and unresponsive administration. Without consistent family reassurance about safety oversight and responsiveness, prospective families should ask detailed questions about staffing supervision, communication protocols, and incident management before deciding.
