Thunder God (Thor)

I hope your loved one never has to eat puree food, because this is what they have to look forward to: 1. Never know for sure what I'm eating since it's puree and they don't tell me (still applies) 2. Variety variety variety, complete lack of. Special sides that would provide variety and can be pureed are regularly replaced with generic sides like applesauce or pureed pears (still applies) 3. 90% of my meals have mashed potatoes sometimes with sometimes without gravy ( mashed potatoes are the common thing they go to to replace potato made products) 4. They do not puree the regular food people get they make a common meal for all/most puree eaters, frequently without sauces/spices that regular food meals get that make the meals palatable ( mostly resolved though I still somewhat regularly get things delivered dry of any sauce that a normal meal would get) 5. Disappointment served with every meal ( very few meals are lost something I look forward to based on what's on the menu) 6. repeated broken promises to fix this stuff, sometimes with token efforts to satisfy me for a day or two and then stop (stopped after 2 weeks after this review was posted) 7. Putting real food on my tray including treats I love to eat but can't (this is just cruel)(they are trying to prevent these mistakes)( still applies as of last night) 8. No alternate menu like with regular food ( it still applies they have not even addressed this issue) 9. Orders from outside dietitians are ignored (I'm supposed to get 2x ensure per day with meals, lunch and dinner)(this is resolved) 10. Repeat components of meals in the same day, same meat, same starch, or same side ( still happens) 11. Insufficiently pureed food which closely resembles mechanical soft and can cause me to aspirate on the food. Puree food is also frequently very very dry making it difficult for me to swallow. ( getting a feeding tube installed to avoid this) 12. Unable to give feedback or make changes easily( the kitchen manager has been taking my feedback on a more regular basis) -an actual resident that eats puree food here 13. Cold food - they are supposed to use warming trays for North wing since we are served last. On weekends and nights they frequently don't. Asking to have it heated up feels like an imposition sometimes. In addition to eating puree, I also have to be fed, which means with no warmer, my food gets cooler from waiting to be fed. Edit: add the number 11. They are making efforts to correct these issues so they do care they just needed a little kick in the butt Edit: Most issues here have been updated to reflect their current status as of 5/25/2026. They are losing good staff due to overwork (shortstaffed) and pay. Edit 6/21/26: add #13
