I went there after a total knee replacement. I couldn’t ever get the CNAs to answer the call button in my room. I wasn’t supposed to walk to the bathroom by myself. One day when they wouldn’t help me I called my brother at my house to come help me. Then I called the nurses station and told her I called my brother to come help me. I heard her tell the CNAs I had called him. Not one of them came to check on me after that.Whenever I would ask for a pain pill a few of them would tell me they were as needed. Yeah I’m the one that needed them. I could have one every 4 hours as needed. The afternoon and graveyard CNAs would either be at the nurses station being loud but not checking on us or right outside our door with the nurse. Sometimes they said the call buttons weren’t working. I could hardly ever get ice packs! Day shift Nurse Kristi and graveyard nurse Stan were great! All the PT staff was great too. I wouldn’t refer anybody to that facility.

My mother was sent here after having a pacemaker put in . She was there for one day and had to be sent back to the hospital for a blood clot. I was told that they would pack up her things and they would keep it safe for her for when she returned. After about 5 days in the hospital she returned to the facility and she was missing all of her pull ups and a couple of her night gowns. The very next day she had a Dr appointment with the doctor who put the pacemaker in he declared her and told her that she was good to go home. So we took that literally, we brought her home. Now, mind you, the doctor's appointment was down in south melbourne.And it was at five o'clock.It takes time to drive back.Get her settled in.Then, we went to the facility to pick up her things.My daughter and I arrived at the facility at 7pm on Thursday to collect her things . WELL I was put on the phone with the administrator who then told me that I had no right to take her out of that facility and that they were gonna call the police have us arrested for kidnapping, then call dcf on us. I told him that I had POA and he told me that I couldn't make that decision for her that she was of sound mind and she would have to tell him that she wanted to go home herself. We had a 3 way call.And she told him that she wanted to go home. Ended up being that I had to bring her back to the facility because she didn't want my daughter. Nor I to get arrested. So, we brought her back. BUT it didn't stop there they proceeded to tell her that if she didn't stay her insurance wouldn't cover her stay and she would have to pay out of pocket for the time that she spent there! NOT TRUE FASLE INFORMATION. She was covered 100%. Just another way to keep her there . Heads in the beds brings in the money. I wonder what AHCA would think about this...

I'm used to being the family visitor, not the resident/patient. As soon as I saw Royal Oaks was on my insurance list, I remembered my brother spending time here to rehab after one of his surgeries. I immediately said "That one!" -- Do you have a second choice? Me: Stares at list forever... "no other choice." The staff here are all professional and empathetic. I could not have asked for better care. There were a few hiccups at night but Eric the administrator and the rest of the staff addressed any concerns right away. No place is perfect, this is true, but if you are ranking them, put this one at the top of your list. I love the activities and especially the Physical Trainers who had me back on my feet sooner than I had thought possible. The food in "The Oak's Grill" is also better than expected. I love the choices you get if you don't care for something. I would rate higher than 5 stars if I could!

My Grandmother has recently been a short term patient after a hip replacement and my great aunt is a long term resident at Royal Oak. Both units are clean, with amazing staff and even friendly residents. This place doesn’t present as a nursing home when you walk in like other facilities around. They offering restaurant style dining for lunch and recently started dinner some evenings. They have multiple activities offered daily and they even have their own Ice cream parlor and hair salon! From admission to discharge it has been an easy process. Would 10/10 recommend!
