About Roosevelt Care Centers

Roosevelt Care Center at Edison is a long-term care facility in Edison, New Jersey, with a history dating back to 1936. Originally constructed as a tuberculosis hospital under President Franklin D. Roosevelt's Works Project Administration, the facility was converted by Middlesex County into a long-term care facility in the 1950s to serve the region's aging population.

The community has expanded significantly over the decades to meet growing demand. A 250-bed expansion was completed in 1982, followed by the establishment of a 180-bed facility at the Parsonage Road location, which became the primary base of operations by May 2005. The campus now operates modern infrastructure while maintaining its core service programs.

Roosevelt Care Center offers hospice care, which was established in the late 1980s, as well as subacute rehabilitation services, which began in the late 1990s. These specialized programs, along with long-term care, distinguish the facility's offerings for area residents.

Roosevelt in Edison NJ If you want the peace of mind knowing your loved one is getting exceptional care this is the place. The staff are very friendly and will go the extra mile. They are composed and are accustomed to handling dysfunction. My grandmother will say how great everyone is here almost every time i visit. I can tell by the look on her face that she means it. Even though it’s difficult to see the condition she’s in, it’s reassuring to know this is the best place imaginable. It takes truly special individuals to have the same kindred spirit everyday. I would like to point out my grandmother is on the toughest wing in the facility. It’s refreshing to be in an environment where people are so kind and compassionate. Not only are they kind but they work diligently. They are well organized and will cater to each patients specific needs. Whether health related or on a day to day basis. I was pleasantly surprised how much they knew about my grandmother just within a few weeks.

I would like to share on how nice and thoughtful the lady in the front desk is. Her name is Mirium . She always greets you very nicely and cheerful .Its hard to find these type of people working in customer service. She is a great asset to your facility .

The receptionist at the front desk was very welcoming. We went up to the third floor for our visit. The nurse's station was beautifully decorated for a Valentine's Day. Dinner was brought over to a table in the gathering room and the person that delivered it did not just put it down on the table. They prepared the coffee, uncovered, the soup, etc.. We requested a soda for my brother-in-law and someone brought it up to him in less than five minutes. All in all, we were very pleased with the care center.

I just want to say how much I appreciate the hard work that these caregivers in this rehab have to go through to sustain that facility. These are supposed to be our angels that are taking care of our family members, but it doesn’t negate the fact that the workforce puts a lot of strain on people and the reaction can be frustration. It can be abuse towards the patient and in visiting my relative she’s been telling our family the abusive ways that’s being put upon her. She doesn’t feel secure. She’s not checked on a regular to be clean and dry she can’t use her hands to summon somebody so she has to wait for somebody to come and clean her up especially when they give her things to loosen her waste in her body. It’s very uncomfortable for me to see my relative in this state of insecurity and fear …she’s given medication’s to help her rest, but how can she rest when the attends are constantly making a lot of noise in the hallways with unnecessary chatter ..it shows an inconsideration. I myself have witnessed.. It hurts my heart to have to express these words to such good people who work hard to earn a living.. But it puts me in a place where I can’t choose to ignore my relative and what she’s going through. She’s the patient. She’s the one that’s sick. She’s the one that’s helpless who prays for hope of a relief… Please understand my position.. I have everyone there in this facility in prayer to calm their minds calm their hearts so that it’s not so hardened toward the patients residence in this facility .. i’m not just speaking from my sister, but I’m speaking for the other patients as well. I don’t expect special treatment for my sister. She’s humble she doesn’t demand. She just wants to be kept dry and comfortable secure and not feel fear of any sort of abuse. I’m grateful for the medical attention that she Has that I definitely get five stars too..I’m expressing that I understand how hard it can be for all of us ..but I also pray that my relative won’t have to feel like this…

Roosevelt Care Center took wonderful care of my mom during her subacute rehab stay. The aids were kind, attentive, and treated her with dignity and compassion. The nursing and therapy teams were supportive and kept us informed. They had a nice variety of activities during the day to keep my mom entertained. We are very grateful for their care and professionalism.
