My name is Pamela Clark<br><br>Scared doesn't begin to describe what it felt like to wake up in a hospital bed, flat on my back, unable to move my arms or legs or even reach for my phone to call my family. I couldn't scratch an itch, adjust a blanket, or do a single thing for myself. Every ounce of independence I had taken for granted disappeared overnight.<br>As doctors explained that I had Guillain-Barré syndrome, the words barely registered. My life had changed in an instant. The fear wasn't just about being paralyzed. It was about not knowing if I would ever move again or what my future would look like.<br>That was the condition I was in when I arrived at Riverside Post Acute Care in February 2025. Looking back over the past 18 months, I am so thankful that's where I ended up.<br>From the moment I arrived, I was treated with kindness, compassion, and encouragement. The staff didn't just help me recover physically—they gave me hope on the days when I needed it most. Because of their dedication and support, I was able to regain my strength, my independence, and my life.<br>I can never thank the following people enough for the role they played in my recovery. My case manager, Ava, was always there to guide me through the process. The physical therapy team—Kate, Tommy, Carlene, and Reg—challenged and encouraged me every step of the way. The CNAs, Esmeralda, Catalina, and Rosario, cared for me with patience, dignity, and genuine compassion during a time when I was completely dependent on others.<br>To each of you, thank you for believing in me when I wasn't sure what the future held. Your care made all the difference, and I will be forever grateful.
