This is not your standard review … but if you are considering Rim Country Health and Rehabilitation in Payson, AZ – this is good to know ... My sister Sheila was at Rim Country Health and Rehabilitation in Payson, AZ for about 9 months before her recent passing in April of 2026. She had moved to Payson, AZ about 9 years prior. During her stay at Rim Country Health I visited her every day (as the Good Lord led) during her 9 month stay (except for a few missed days). The details below were experienced over this time: First to the Staff at Rim Country Health and Rehabilitation: There are not enough “thank you's” to offer each of you for the amazing compassionate loving care you provided for my sister. In my opinion, she so deserved compassionate care and dignity during this season of her life – just as everyone does. My sister had served her community as a police officer (retired S. Miami FL Lieutenant), attended 9-11 (Ground Zero in N.Y.) with a crew and achieved so MUCH more during her lifetime of service – making her a great candidate for such loving payback! No facility is perfect – as humans we are flawed but it was hard to spot the flaws at Rim Country Health and Rehabilitation. The staff took care of my sister as a loving family member would. They worked tirelessly to keep her (and all residents) comfortable, clean, safe, well fed, entertained and loved on. Even trimming and cleaning her amazingly fast growing finger nails :) The staff interacted with her for mental stimulation through activities, physical therapy, outings, change of scenery and more! They went the extra mile over and over to make sure she was always okay. Staff members even purchased small items out of their own pocket to make the difference for her. I saw birthdays and holidays celebrated. For Thanksgiving, she got an amazing full course meal (we didn't know it would be her last Thanksgiving). This particular meal had always been really special to her. The staff served a classic spread, filled with awesome yummies right down to the green bean casserole and deviled eggs - that she would have made for herself! The meal included REAL turkey - not turkey roll with all the trimmings! She just kept eating :) In reality, every meal looked pretty yummy! The business front-office staff from admissions to finance – were always helpful, efficient and got the job done! Last but surely not least – even the VERY special doctor who makes the rounds to check everyone was a true blessing in so many ways. Most of us would run away from this job, but to each of the very special staff members at Rim Country Health and Rehabilitation - a shout out … thank you, thank you, thank you, may the Good Lord bless you 1000 times in return for all you gave, your hard work and loving expert care! Please forgive me for not naming all tasks or specific names. I hope each staff member who so lovingly cared for my sister is able to read this … as I will be forever grateful! Second - To the Leadership/Owners of Rim Country Health and Rehabilitation: Please know (as stated) I visited my sister at Rim Country Health every day (minus 2-3 days) for 9 months. I was absolutely amazed at the level of care, dignified assistance, and heart felt loving compassion she received. Even with some medical personnel rotated from the Valley, etc., her great care remained consistent. When you are not there – your staff offers the ultimate in healthcare during a super vulnerable season of life. You succeed because of the great staff working so hard every day during SUCH a challenging job. Please provide them (not just a great BIG thank you) but even go past the standard for them as they have for those they care for - i.e., bonus, gift cards, raises, etc. A big thank you to YOU as well - for overseeing such a successful well-oiled loving, caring, compassionate process.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Rim Country Health & Rehabilitation is a gem! From the moment I entered, I was struck by the caring and loving nature of the staff across all departments. The dietary team provides delicious and nutritious meals, the nursing staff offers compassionate care, and the activities coordinators ensure engaging experiences. The therapy department is exceptional in helping residents recover after injury or hospitalization, providing tailored rehabilitation programs that make a real difference. The housekeeping staff maintains a clean and welcoming environment, and the wonderful volunteers go above and beyond to enhance the residents' lives. Everyone truly cares for the residents. The level of care is unparalleled. I highly recommend Rim Country to anyone looking for a nurturing environment for their loved ones!

The staff did not respond to my sister falling down several times. When they decided to call an ambulance and she was transferred to the hospital, it was too late. She suffered multiple fractures and 2 brain bleeds. She passed away 4 days after they decided she needed to go to the hospital. This is a horrible place.

No Manager staff on duty at night. My mom went from the hospital to Rim Country health. They proceeded to tell her that couldn't give her her meds because there was no one on duty to give her her meds. Then after telling her they would take her to her ortho appt, they tried telling her they couldn't take her to that. These things were rectified, only at the cost of her getting extremely upset.

My dad is currently in the facility, some of the people are not treating him right. When I try and talk to them, especially someone named Rashida today they basically hung up on me. My dad is in pain. He’s having problems with some medical issues, and they blame him. He’s not getting the food he’s supposed to get, and if I call they get upset. But it’s necessary for him to be in rehab. I just wish they would be a little bit more kind with him. My dad is not someone to complain. He’s 93 Years old and I don’t want him to get retribution because of this. do you have somebody, knowing that their catheter is busted to lay in their own pee for a long time it’s just unconscionable
