Redbud Care Home

Redbud Care Homes operates five residential care facilities for the elderly in the Sunset Terrace area of Redding, California, providing assisted living services. The facilities range from six to seven beds each and are authorized to accept ambulatory and non-ambulatory residents, as well as those with dementia and hospice needs.

Care is available 24 hours a day, with administrators physically present during daytime hours and on call at night, seven days a week. Staff assist with escorting, bathing, eating, incontinent care, medication administration, and dressing. On-site physical therapy services are available, and the co-owner is a registered nurse. The organization emphasizes continuity of care through long-term staff retention, with many caregivers having worked at Redbud since its opening in 2002.

Each of the five homes serves residents with different care needs: Redbud Care Home and The Terrace serve alert and mildly cognitively impaired residents with minimal behavior issues; Hallmark House specializes in mild to moderate dementia; Hallmark North serves alert and mildly cognitively impaired residents; and Westside Assisted Living serves alert or mildly cognitively impaired residents. Private and semi-private rooms are available, and couples are accepted.

Meals are prepared from scratch using fresh and local ingredients, with three well-balanced meals and daily snacks provided to meet residents' special dietary needs and preferences. A full-time activity coordinator schedules daily activities including walking, exercise, bingo, singing, and music therapy. A 15-seat van transports residents to the lake, petting zoo, and local markets every Thursday, and residents from all five homes gather at Westside Assisted Living's activity room for shared programs.
