I enjoyed my stay here at Rancho Mesa Care Center. I'm very happy to help with the events and the activities that they had for the residents and the staff. I also donated some pinatas for the residents and some staff. It might start slow but, trust me when I'm here, I have been doing fun times. 😁😜🌈♥️

My mother-in-law came here after a fall. I was promised she would have help eating, that she would be put in her clothes, and given her meds on time. None of this was true. The nurse was frustrated when I asked about her meds. I went during mealtime time, and nobody was helping her, so I had to feed her. A day after taking her clothes up there, she was still in a hospital gown at 2:30 the next day. They changed her meds all up even though she was fine on her regular medication schedule from her VERY good PCP. I had a phone meeting with her care team, and after the call, they didn't hang up. I heard them talking about how I was just complaining and that I was just the daughter-in-law. This is the mother of my husband. I am not "just" anything. I love her like she was my own mother and that shouldn't matter when the goal is the patient, not just their insurance benefits. ZERO STARS, NOT RECOMMENDED.

I'm currently here as a patient in room 28C. The facility is old and run down, my bathroom is filthy. The staff is new because the old staff up and quit. They don't give meds on time or at all. One of the other men in here who is blind and hard of hearing gets out of bed and tries to climb into either my bed or the other roommates bed. They don't answer the call buttons on a timely manner if at all. I literally just spent 30 minutes yelling for help in the shower. All the while I could hear staff laughing and carrying on. Don't try to call after hours as there is no one at the front desk. But hey, at least the food sucks. I've requested to be moved to a different facility or for home health. I've also contacted the county health department. This place is not safe.

I suggest you never take a family member or a loved one to this place for any type of care. All of the rooms are in need of serious updating and nothing seems to be truly clean in that facility. All of the staff has an attitude, and they act like you are bothering them if you ask for anything. The facility is extremely noisy and they don’t allow the patients to close the doors on their rooms, so how do you expect your loved one to recover if they cannot sleep or rest because the facility is always chaotic. Don’t even think about asking someone in administration to do something for you because you will end up having to chase that person down numerous times just to get them to do their job. Do not waste your time or your money on this place. You will totally regret it.

My mom stayed here for about a week where she later on had passed. Rachel and the workers there were so supportive through it all. They allowed her kids and family to visit her as much as possible throughout the days .When my mom first arrived there the director had spoke to me telling me that anything that I needed to let them know. I would recommend this place to anyone who needs care. They are very understanding and they help you with anything that you need.
