In the beginning when my mother was placed in the quail park memory care I was assured by Laurie Aguilar that they were qualified and experienced in caring for the elderly with dementia and all the emotional needs that go along with that. The facility itself is beautiful and very clean. Within the first week she was placed on a psychotropic, without a diagnosis to match the medication. This was ordered by a physician who went with a recommendation from qual parks unlicensed staff. My mother came down with head lice, not once but twice and was not treated promptly as it took 24 hours to begin treatment. The treatment took place during the day, yet they went in at 10:00 at night after she was asleep to abruptly turned the lights on, demanding she get out of the bed to change the linen. My mom was extremely traumatized, due to her privacy was invaded after hours. My mother has lost a total of 30 pounds since admission a year ago. She simply could not eat powdered eggs and the highly processed foods. During admission we were given a beautiful pastry as an example of the chef prepared meals. However this was not to be the case on a daily basis. To conclude I feel this facility misrepresented the care that they claimed to provide. When I approached management with my concerns nothing was done and I had to elevate it to ownership, which took allot of research. Ultimately consumers be aware. Quail park is 100% private pay and there is no over sight. There is no one to report to when a deficiency is noted. My mother lives with me now.
