I moved my Mom into Quail Crest in December of 2024. My mom is in late stage dementia. I chose Quail Crest because of how they are set up to care for their residents.

Quail Crest has separate cottages that place residents based on the level of care they require. A resident can choose between a private room or a room with one other resident. My mom has a shared room in the Sunflower cottage.

I love the hardworking, knowledgeable and caring staff in Sunflower cottage. I visit my mom several days a week and I see how well they are cared for. My mom lights up when she sees her caregivers. They take excellent care of her and the other residents. Since each cottage keeps the number of residents at a number that allows for plenty of one on one attention it never feels chaotic or hurried.

They have a rotating schedule of onsite activities and a bus that takes the residents who are able to travel and want to travel out to parks or trips to the coast. Every meal is served at a dining table with placemats, silverware (not plastic), ceramic type plates and bowls and cups. The food is prepared insight and each cottage has a kitchen so that residents can have real food at anytime of day. My mom can no longer have solid food so every meal is pureed. It's the same food that everyone else has but it's blended. A staff member sits with any resident who cannot feed themselves and patiently feeds them. Including my mom. I try and visit at a mealtime so that I can feed my mom but if I'm not there I know that she is being cared for.

Quail Crest has a gorgeous courtyard that is secure so that residents can go outside safely and enjoy a variety of flowers and plants. They also have a beautiful waterfall to gaze at. The staff regularly schedule activities outside when the weather permits.

I highly, highly recommend visiting to see if you agree. It is a heart wrenching decision to place a family member in residential care. I know my mom & the other residents are safe, clean, fed and have plenty of chances to stay active.

Quail Crest is well staffed. This is an important take away because while there may be "fancier" places for your family member these places are chronically understaffed. You do not want your family member in a place that is chronically understaffed even if on the outside the place looks like a resort. Quail Crest has high quality people in every department and when you choose Quail Crest you are choosing the next best place to home.

My mom is in excellent hands and I don't have to worry about her when I'm not there. You can't put a price on peace of mind.

Special thanks & love for the staff in the Sunflower cottage 🌻❤️

My grandma has lived at Quail Crest Blackberry cottage for a couple years now, it was an impossibly hard decision to move her here after 89 years in her own place being independent and she has continued to decline. As someone who has worked in senior car for 15 years myself I know all sides to it, and I can honestly say the dedicated care partners and med techs at blackberry make ALL the difference! They have been so dedicated to my grandma. The med techs Nate and Riley have been so amazing, they are truly worth their weight in gold and are some of the top med techs I’ve seen in all my years in senior care. I’m so thankful to have had them for this journey.

As a senior living advisor in the Eugene-Springfield area, I had the opportunity to place many of my clients at Quail Crest. In fact, I have been familiar with this memory care community since 2000, from my days as a home health PT. One of the strengths of Quail Creat is that, over the years, they have demonstrated consistency in the quality of the care they provide, as well as the longevity of their team (their most important caregivers).
No senior care community is a one-size-fits-all, but if you are looking for a smaller, warm setting, with dedicated caregivers and a beautiful garden ( for those who love gardening and the outdoors), Quail Crest will be an excellent choice for your loved one.

Second Review
I had left a review back in November or December. I believe it was after bringing my aunt to Quail Crest. Basically what I'm doing looks like is adding to my last review. I just want to give kudos to Christine as she went above and beyond to make life easier for my aunt. My aunt got to the point she was pretty much in bed the last week or so she was there and hardly ever cognizant of what was happening. However, in the evenings there would be a time or two when Christine would talk with her and notice she was coherent and able to communicate. Christine went out of her way to call me to let me know as I had asked her if she would mind doing that and of course she jumped right in and it's always there to help anybody down there at the facility and if it had not been for Christine I would not have had that last 1 hour and 15 minutes that was so precious for me and my aunt. It was time that we were given that normally we would not have had , had it not been for Christine's diligence and kindness and giving me a heads up so I can run down and visit with my aunt. Also, a caregiver there by the name of Berta expressed nothing but love and kindness toward my aunt, made her feel loved. My aunt would tell me I love her talking about Berta and Christine both when she would tell me about them in private. So thank you! Christine, thank you, Berta. You are both angels in my eyes !
First Review
I had my aunt transferred here from another facility. At that time, she had to be hand fed, wouldn't hardly communicate with anyone, needed help getting dressed, she is now up walking and feedings herself, the community is wonderful and the staff in sunflower cottage is wonderful and above average they are caring and compassionate and humorous, the communication with the rcc Christine is amazing we are so pleased with our choice for our dearly loved aunt. Christine is amazing! She actually cares, provides love and support for all those in her care.
The whole staff in Sunflower Cottage are wonderful but if and when it comes time for me to go into a facility of this kind, I hope I'm fortunate enough to have someone as giving, loving and caring as both Christine and Jennifer a, who also works as a care giver in Sunflower Cottage.
So if you are searching for a facility for your loved one, please contact Quail Crest, take a tour. You will be glad you did!

My husband is a resident at Quail Crest Memory Care, and I can't say enough about the support we received during the transition. Cari Garrigus was absolutely instrumental in helping our family navigate the emotional and logistical challenges of finding a safe, compassionate place for him. Her kindness, knowledge, and dedication made all the difference.

Quail Crest truly deserves a five-star rating. The staff is caring, professional, and attentive, and the environment feels like a community—not just a facility. If you're looking for a place where your loved one will be treated with respect and compassion, I highly recommend Quail Crest and their exceptional team.
