I recently visited a friend who was there for rehab, and was shocked at the deplorable contitions. The quality of care has deteriorated horrendously since my parents were patients. Call bells not answered, food in the floor, biohazard trash on the floor around trash cans, patients helping other patiens to the restroom due to lack of staff response, food quality is not what it used to be, and staff at the entrance (on their phone) not checking in visitors. It was heartbreaking to see the decline of standards in what was once one of the better facilities. My friends family reported that her nurse had brought her down for physical therapy, left her in the empty therapy room where the therapist never showed up for hours until another staff member found her. DO NOT LET YOUR LOVED ONE BE SENT HERE!

Read the Washington state department of health records for this institution. One star - the lowest rating Washington state investigators could give. Our experience correlated very closely with the (many) investigations and patient complaints. The health investigations for Marionwood are almost twice as anywhere else in Washington state.The professional executives are wonderful people. The staff and the institution is a disaster. They refused to verify their medication list against his doctor-ordered meds, they lost his clothes, failed to respond to urgent nurse calls (expect a 30. Minute wait time to a nurses call), They failed to login the information from the hospital, discharge orders, creating multiple request to fix the medication list – meaning 2 to 3 times circling back to a firm. The corrections had been made – but found they were just completely ignored.they didn’t deliver his food, they imposed significant restrictions on his ability to move effectively undercutting the surgeons orders from the hospital. Surgeon orders for daily PT were ignored. Showers turned into nothing more than a sponge bath In bed. Patients would fall out of bed regularly because there wasn’t enough staff to respond to urgent calls for assistance. And the food – inedible. Patient was bullied into accepting 100% bed restriction. The staff misrepresented that as a doctors order; then mystery represented whether that had been communicated to the family. Trying to decipher staff imposed restrictions and limitations, compared to a legitimate doctor order from inside the facility, compared to the hospital. Discharge orders was a nightmare. Full foods and failures to brief the family, the patient, or provide documentation. Our patient declined very rapidly under such a failure to provide Even minimal, low expectations care.
