I was very impressed with how clean and light the facility was. The atmosphere was very warm and welcoming. The residents seemed happy and comfortable to be there. The CRD is absolutely amazing and one of the most genuinely nice people I have ever met, never once making you feel pressured to “sign a deal”.

"Went in a few times to check this place out, and honestly the staff are what really got me. They're not just going through the motions — they actually stop and talk to people, remember little details, seem like they enjoy being there. That's not something you can fake, and you can tell the residents feel it too.
The activities were more than I expected, honestly. Music nights, games, fitness stuff, outings, little hobby groups — it wasn't just the same bingo game on repeat every week. Felt like people were actually doing things, not just sitting around waiting for the day to end. It felt like an actual place people live and enjoy being. If you're trying to figure out where to look for a parent or family member, this one's worth putting near the top of your list."

There were things I appreciated about this facility. They organized a lot of activities and parties for the residents, and many of the staff genuinely seemed to care. No facility is perfect, and every workplace can have a bad employee.

However, there were also significant problems. The elevator seemed to be out of service every month or two, leaving residents who couldn’t climb three flights of stairs effectively confined to their rooms. The facility also always seemed to be short-staffed.

My biggest concern was that a kitchen staff member engaged in a sexual relationship with my mother’s partner of 30 years, who was also a resident. I later discovered them together myself and notified the facility, only to find out they had been aware of the situation for months. The employee was terminated, which is why I’m giving more than one star.

What continues to bother me is the lack of communication. My mother has dementia, and while she was planning an elaborate wedding to her partner of 30 years, our family had no idea this situation had occurred. We were also paying for his care at the time. I understand there are privacy considerations, but I wish the facility had found a way to communicate with us or provide guidance instead of leaving us to discover everything on our own.

Overall, the activities and many of the staff were wonderful, but the recurring elevator outages, chronic understaffing, and the way this serious situation was handled make it difficult for me to recommend this facility.

How are you going to be a home for the elderly… but have a broken elevator. People are paying good money to live there and a good amount cannot use the stairs safely.
