I don’t know what these other reviews are talking about, Farris who runs the emergency shelter is doing the best he can. There is very little funding coming in from the state and federal agencies anymore, he is still fighting to keep the emergency location open on Zeier rd open(state legislators want to close it and put those folks out on the streets). For having barely any money at all, he never refuses people out. That is the way it should be, let folks have a warm place to stay. It is freezing in Wisconsin. The entire place is only run by 12-15 people a night and they usually only have one police officer on duty. They do great work with other places like The Beacon, trying to get those out of homelessness and into real housing. Think again before bashing them for their outdated showers and pantries, as the main focus for them is shelter. Warmth and a place to sleep that is safer than the streets, and a place to keep your belongings. Farris knows almost everyone by their first name. He is a great guy!!!!!!!

Porchlight is a shelter for those in need of housing and is a wonderful service to our community. The residents seem very happy there.

THEY ARE DISCUSTING!!! ROACHES EVERYWHERE, DONT TAKE CALLS! PLEASE, PLEASE GET THE WORD OUT. PORCHLIGHT IS A DISGUSTING ABUSE OF RESOURCES! DO NOT DONATE ANYTHING. THEY POCKET ANYTHING GIVEN AND THE PEOPLE THE SUPPOSEDLY HELP ARE LEFT TO SUFFER IN DISGUSTING CONDITIONS. DONATE TO ANY OTHER ORGANIZATION!!!
