My mother was 80 years old when she moved into one of the independent living duets at Ponte Palmero. Mom peacefully passed away in that same duet five weeks ago. After this 10 year stay there, I cannot imagine a better place for her. In independent living, you need to bring in your own caregivers. If care is needed a resident can move into assisted living. We chose to bring in our on Caregiver’s, so that Mom can stay in her wonderful duet. Early on mom was very active in all of the Ponte Palmero extracurricular activities and she appreciated the staff and the opportunities she was given to go winetasting and to theatrical productions. Mom started a poker group at Ponte and she was active in it until Covid. She joined the book club and the wine tasting group. Everyone at Ponte treated my mom as if she was their own mom. They treated her with love and respect. They told her she looked good when she did and tried to make sure that her food was prepared to HER liking. The maintenance group would stop everything to come help her if she needed something like a plumbing fix. When mom passed away peacefully last month, the staff at Ponte did everything they could to help me take care of her stuff and get out of the property quickly. In this day and age when it’s so tough to make sure your elderly parents get the love and support they need, I can’t imagine doing that without mom being at Ponte Palmero. Sincerely, Ellyn D
