What Families Think

Plum City Care Center is a skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility that also shares a campus with The Seasons, a neighboring assisted living community, allowing for a continuum of care as residents' needs change. Public feedback is very limited—only a couple of reviews are available—and both raise serious concerns about staff communication and management professionalism during a family's end-of-life experience.

The Good

  • Shares a campus with an on-site assisted living partner
  • Offers both short-term rehab and long-term nursing care
  • Serves residents recovering after hospitalization

The Bad

  • Multiple reviewers describe unprofessional, poorly communicating staff and management
  • One detailed report of insensitive handling of a dying resident's care and final wishes
  • Very limited public review volume makes it hard to gauge typical experience

My father was a in these fool's care for less than a week... In the beginning.. I felt more than well at ease to go back to my own home in Red Wing. My father's lung cancer had spread to his brain very quickly.... We all knew it wouldn't be long... But even though that was the case... I got a call at 3am from an extremely rude nurse telling me that my father had lit a cigarette in the middle of the night and that I... Let me reiterate... She said. "I" needed to come and "deal with my father".... Ummm... Im sorry... But I was over an hour and a half away... And sadly.... My father did not know who I was at that point. Regardless... At admission... Obviously we addressed the last wishes etc.... (I had power of attorney for some time at that point) 8 dats later my father passed.... Please some n a explain to me why my father was #1 exposed to his ex wife...and his "brother" whom he had made it perfectly clear that he did not want around...and tgen was transported to a funeral home that his ex wife (my mother) deemed? And now I am still unable to retrieve my father's ashes... (I am his only child... Next and last of kin other tgan my owb children).... Because I have to pay a bill for a funeral home I never approved of???
