My relative has been here for 2 months now. I have never been a fan of nursing homes until I decided on this one. The staff is wonderful even down to the maintenance man. I have never smelled anything and the facility is always clean.

The People here are Rude, & very Unprofessional. When you walk in it smells like a cat and urine. The Nurses Station holds nothing but negativity & gossip. All you hear is other individuals information and business. They work together to downplay other Employees work. It's really bad visiting this place, knowing these folks feel the way they do about their positions there. I see a whole lot of things that could be done, while they sit and eat on and off break. The walls and doors could be wiped down, I'm sure covid rules are still inline there. They should care more about their patients and their health and securing their paperwork. Eating and the club at that desk is pure foolery. A patient shouldn't have to ask more than once or twice even on a busy day. This needs to be looked into.

I was admitted to the Pillas a few days ago for rehabilitation. I had never been inside before but I had driven by the facility and knew that the location was high-end, with a golf club across the street. But I was disappointed when I was rolled through the doors. The smell was sickening. The staff was rushing around, patients walking the halls. The room I was rolled into had a bed that had broken electrical cords. So it couldn’t be raised or lowered. The patient already there was a screamer mornings, noon and night. The second bed that was brought in still didn’t work properly. There were scratch marks on the wall above my headboard. My medication had to be ordered and two days later I still had to wait for my medication, and I started asking what I was being given because I didn’t trust the staff. The food wasn’t bad but it wasn’t what I could eat. I was ready to go home soon as I got there. After a couple of days I saw that I could do my rehab at home so my family spoke to the proper authorities and it was told that I would get my discharge paperwork when I was leaving but that was another nightmare. We ran into a lot of problems and lies. But my family perseverance didn’t stop. I was released to go home. So happy to leave that place. Advice, don’t go there for any reason.

My mom was at the Pillars for about a year. She came after having a bad experience at another facility out of state. All I can say is the way the staff at the Pillars helped her navigate through that experience is something I will never forget. She received so much love, patience and kindness from the staff. The staff just feel in love with her and she feel in love with them. That's the atmosphere you will find at the Pillars, a place to call hime. Thank you Pillars of North County.

This facility needs to be condemned and shut down. Most of the staff are contracted workers from agencies. They come and go often and do not establish any relationship with the residents so there is a strong lack of concern and compassion for the residents. The upper management( admin staff)has changed 3 times in the last 2 yrs and is not much better than the agency staff. Everyone comes into the job claiming to be caring about the residents, but it wanes soon after getting there. I have had to call the state several times about treatment and hygiene practices. One employee that has always been very helpful in every situation with my mother is Shante Rice. She actually is one of a small handful of employees that are good here, maybe a total of 5 staff. Moral of the story, avoid sending your loved one here if at all possible!!!!
