This Post Acute Care Nursing & Rehabilitation Center is clearly the BEST one I've ever encountered. This facility is so clean, bright, and cheerful. I think everyone on staff from Doctor to Nurse, to Wound Care Specialist to Plastic Surgeon to kitchen staff is really professional with kind bedside manners and great medical skills. I am forever grateful how well they've treated my 85 year old mother with Parkinsonism and early dementia. She arrived at their facility from Hoag with 4th degree wounds after the Hoag surgeons said the wounds were too serious to treat (prepare for her demise). Well, within 24 hours of arriving at Pelican Ridge, the wound care specialists had successfully cleared away the large necrotic patch on her back. I am beyond shocked and grateful that my mom is making a full recovery 5 weeks after being told my mom may die soon. So, I cannot say adequately how blessed we are for being in the care of Pelican Ridge Post Acute Nursing and Rehabilitation center. It is the country club version of a rehabilitation center, believe me.. New floors, beautiful light blue walls with framed beach themed photos, lots of natural light coming through windows... no smells,,, just peace of mind. ❤️🙏

My mother Gloria is currently at Pelican Ridge (since January) and I could not be more pleased with my experience here. From Lawrence the Hospital Administrator, Admissions, Business Office and Social workers, Doctors, RN's, LVN 's, CNA's, Med Nurses, Maintenance and the front desk etc. Everyday they all get a score of 11 (on a 10 scale) I have come every other day so I have had a lot of contact and experiences!! Mom is also on Hospice with Graceland and they are wonderful and they work as a team. I am truly blessed to be at Pelican Ridge.

I was nervous about going here sight unseen but was pleasantly surprised!! While being transferred via gurney the first thing I noticed coming through the doors was 1. it didn’t smell and 2. it was very clean. The staff was very pleasant and helpful which made my stay better. When I pressed the call button a CNA would respond in less than 5 minutes. There were 2 small issues that I reported to Lawrence (administrator) and within 2 hours they had been addressed and were being resolved. The PT/OT staff were amazing. Very helpful with suggestions, encouraging and supportive! Activities were uplifting. The ladies encouraged participation from residents. I was fortunate to be there for the ‘monthly party’. March’s them was Peter Pan and they went all out….from decorations to entertainment to a special treat. There were even 2 professional ballerinas dancing. This was the highlight of my stay. Only one negative thing was the food. 95% of the time it was lukewarm. Nothing says 😬 like cold pancakes, sausage, potatoes, etc. I know serving large quantities is not easy but there could be a better way to serve temperature controlled food.

My aunt is a long time resident of Pelican Ridge and my family and I are really pleased with her level of care. The staff are extremely attentive and the rehab they offer for her post stroke has really helped improve her mobility and overall quality of life. The staff is friendly and communicative, the facility is clean, and it's easy to visit from our home in Irvine. I highly recommend trusting this facility with your loved ones!
