My husband has been a patient on rehab side for a month now. I can’t say one bad thing about his stay. The journey started 2/27 when he was admitted to Lourdes ICU with sepsis. The organism entered in left ankle joint which required a minor surgery procedure to drain and washout. My husband is 86, so this whole thing has left him unable to fully weight bear on left foot. He loves all the therapists helping him to get stronger physically and mentally. The nurses and nursing assistants work together as a team. He is very comfortable with all of them. Of course he wants to come home, and that is the goal and he and I feel that everyone at Pelican Pointe is making it their goal also. Mona Dupleix

This facility was rated high but my experience was a nightmare. All said I was never informed my mother was not there anymore mind you she has Dementia. Not even a call saying she signed herself out! What's the point of the main point of contact!! So very disappointed. Oh she has been gone over a week before I found out second hand!!

My dad was here for rehab and we loved it. Staff was great if he would need to go to rehab again. This would be the place we would want again and again.

DO NOT SEND YOUR LOVED ONE HERE!!! My loved one was on the rehab side, after 43 days he had not improved in fact he was severely worst than before he went in. I went up on multiple evening shifts to find 1 aid to about 20 patients sitting in the hallway with a child under the age of 2 instead of seeing about the residents! I reported it and the next weekend it was the same thing. Multiple patients being neglected and a complete liability. On more than one occasion I notice no one was helping my loved one to eat, just pushing his tray in front of him while he is laying in bed and walking away. When asked about it the aid said "it's just me tonight and I havent finished handing out trays". It's appaling how understaffed they are. I noticed a sore on my loved ones bottom only after he said his bottom was burning. NO ONE DOCUMENTED IT! Nor could anyone tell me how long it was there! My loved on(who has always maintained his wits) started becoming confused and talking about things that did not make sense. I asked about it and got no answers. I told my loved one I was getting him out of there because of the neglect and condition he was in and he said dont say that too loud they will take it out on me! When I called to have him brought home they have deemed him bedridden, which he was not when he went in and told us we'd have to pay 400 dollars out of our pocket for the ambulance ride. We were told this is the best rated nursing home in the area. I'd hate to see the others! My loved one never did recover and after multiple hospital visits we are finally home with hospice.
