Paradise Creek is a retirement community in Moscow, Idaho. We have lived here almost three years and find it terrific! The CEO and her staff are extremely caring, helpful, friendly and supportive. We just could not find a better situation to live out our retirement years.

My eldest sister lives there and says the staff in this place "turn a blind eye"/"condone by their silence" the acts of co-workers mistreating the residents that don't want to wake up in the morning for 8:00 a.m. by going into their rooms AT 6:00 A.M. and harassing them to be up and in the cafeteria for breakfast because the resident likes to watch television until 11:00 p.m. A particular staff member is allowed to "bully" the residents (after residents reported that staff member for basically being an outright BULLY) by displaying their anger in the cafeteria at mealtime by slamming and crashing items as they (the disgruntled staff member) serve the meals and clean up, yet the co-workers just stay silent about it. This is effectively a staff member OBVIOUSLY BEING ALLOWED TO BULLY residents and instilling fear of how they (the other residents) might potentially be treated in by an upset staff member if alone with them. So, as you see, the "CEO" replied to this comment. Soon after, the "bullying" staff member was moved to another floor. However, another issue, her genetically inherited food sensitivity TO WHEAT AND DAIRY, WHICH I AND MY ADULT CHILDREN ALSO HAVE, has been met with GASLIGHTING the CEO and by staff there. Our, my mentioned sister and myself, suffer inflammation throughout our body from our food sensitivities, resulting in joint pain, sinus congestion, which can lead to ear and sinus infections. The staff/CEO insist on a doctor's confirmation, even though she knows what foods she needs to avoid already and why.

The nursing staff in the skilled nursing part of the facility was wonderful in my husband's last days, but the management is terrible. Hospice faxed over orders for end of life medications to manage pain, anxiety, and nausea and vomiting, as per hospice protocol. The manager didn't bother to enter the orders into the computer. I spent part of my husband's last day on this earth--two days after the orders were faxed over--trying to self-manage his agonizing symptoms and making phone calls and hounding the nursing staff so he could get some relief. It's traumatic enough watching the person you love dying, but it's a hell of a lot worse when the death is more agonizing than it needs to be.

We have had an outstanding experience in the skilled nursing/rehab portion of this facility. The staff are consistently friendly and attentive. We have been very happy with the care that my mother received.
