I must give one star to be able to do the review otherwise I would leave zero stars. The staff is extremely nice but the procedures and protocols seem to vary so drastically that I'm not sure there's anything in place ... on a regular basis the phone is put out of the patient's reach. This seems cruel to me that she can hear the phone ringing and can't reach it. Also, it's a very lengthy delay to get someone to come in and change her. I have actively worked with the administrator for the last month or two and the issues just continue. They will not provide me the number for the owners or the corporate office of this facility, which I think is very unprofessional.

My mother was admitted to Palmetto Subacute Care Center yesterday at 2 PM, and within just a few hours the level of care was extremely concerning. When I visited her at 7 PM, she had no water available, her ileostomy bag was almost exploding from not being emptied, and there was no call light accessible for her to ask for help. While I was there, they brought her dinner, but nobody had checked her blood sugar beforehand even though she is diabetic. The nursing care appeared very unprofessional. The nurse did not seem knowledgeable about basic ileostomy care or even how to properly empty the bag. This morning, the situation continued. By 10 AM, her ileostomy bag still had not been changed despite her requesting assistance since 7 AM. The breakfast quality was also very poor. I became so concerned about her safety and dignity that I decided to take her out of the facility myself. This experience was deeply disappointing and alarming for a vulnerable patient who deserved attentive and competent care.

My mother has been there in the past and recently I come to check on my mother in the morning and I find my and I come at the time at 11:30 in the morning by this time patients should be dressed well I found my mother two times in a gown in the bed at 11:30 when I wanted her down for activities last time this past week I found her again in the bed with a blouse on and the diapers wet not only that it's against OSHA policy to put double diapers on a patient and my mom they kept putting double diapers and that brings infection and all to find out also by the CNAs that they don't give reports to each other my mom was not I put shoes for my mother and two days ago they didn't put any shoes on her and my mother's feet she gets cold easily and I asked don't you guys give reports and the girl says no they don't give reports to one another this is our unprofessional this administration is they don't teach their CNAs anything about OSHA and OSHA requires I hope that OSHA comes in there and sees the violations that this place is doing to the people and how some of these elderly people they leave half of dress just because they can't speak for themselves

I brought my mother-in-law from Baptist Main, She needed to go to a subacute center. It was her first time. We were very concerned and worried where she will go, and I am happy. I chose Palmetto Subacute , from the welcoming staff at the front desk, the nurses, the assistant nurses it’s a wonderful place. They have treated her with dignity, which is what a sick person needs , they are concerned about everything and answer all of our questions. The place is very cleaned and most of all they treat your loved ones with love, respect, and dignity. If I could give 10 stars I would.
