About Oxford Glen Grand Prairie

Oxford Glen at Grand Prairie is a memory care community in Grand Prairie, Texas, offering independent living, assisted living, and specialized memory care services. The community is designed with a home-like setting featuring three separate secure houses, each containing 12 bedroom suites that open to common areas including a great room, full kitchen, dining area, and enclosed courtyard.

The memory care approach centers on honoring each resident's life story and individuality. Staff work with families to develop individualized profiles based on residents' histories, preferences, and routines, which guide daily care and interactions. The community emphasizes that understanding who someone was before their diagnosis is essential to providing genuine, enriched care. Every resident's schedule is adapted to their abilities, interests, and personal histories rather than managing the condition alone.

The physical design prioritizes safety and resident well-being without institutional features. Each house has no long hallways to create confusion, features memory boxes outside bedroom doors for personalization, and includes a separate entrance and doorbell for family visits. Staff maintain 24/7 supervision with secure entrances and monitored outdoor spaces. The open layout provides superior visibility for staff oversight, and each house has access to a secure, enclosed courtyard with raised gardening beds and outdoor seating.

Programming at Oxford Glen includes intergenerational activities connecting residents with young visitors and daily engagement opportunities designed to create meaning and purpose. Staff receive ongoing training in dementia care best practices and are described as being trained to recognize the lifetime of experiences worth honoring behind every diagnosis.

The community is conveniently located in Grand Prairie with easy access to surrounding areas including Mansfield, Arlington, DeSoto, Duncanville, Cedar Hill, Euless, and nearby towns across Dallas, Floyd, and Tarrant counties.

Our family’s experience with Oxford Glen was unacceptable and deeply disappointing. Our loved one passed away on 11/27/25, yet his account was still drafted on December 1st, after his death. During this time, our family was grieving and managing funeral arrangements out of state. The funeral took place on December 6th, and the remaining personal belongings were retrieved on December 10th. Despite these circumstances, we were informed that only a partial refund would be issued because items remained in the room for a short period following his passing. The director justified this decision by referencing a policy signed prior to move‑in, showing little consideration for the realities of loss, travel, and funeral planning. Accounting later advised that refunds can take up to 90 days. We are now 93 days past that timeframe, and no refund has been issued. We were recently told we must continue waiting for checks to be cut, possibly not until the end of the month. This ongoing delay is unreasonable and unacceptable. Most concerning is the complete lack of compassion, urgency, or accountability shown throughout this process. This was not merely a billing issue — it was a failure to treat a grieving family with basic dignity and respect. Oxford Glen should seriously reevaluate how it handles end‑of‑life situations and financial matters involving deceased residents.

Ashley gave me a tour of Oxford Glen this week and she was welcoming and thoughtful. She introduced me to several long-tenured team members, walked me through the the home and clearly shared Oxford Glens’s vision for providing intentional, resident-centered approach to memory care. Thanks Ashley
