The bedroom furniture can be updated. It looks like rundown and patients should be checked on at least every hour and not longer than that. Loose soil clothes or linens should be removed from patients room right after changing. After giving patients a bath and dressed, they hair should be groomed

I feel compelled to share my experience with NHC. . To be clear I’m not the patient, my sister is. She has been at NHC West Ashley, Charleston,SC for 5 days now for rehabilitation. During that time she has a had two 30 minute rehab sessions during which time the therapist had multiple patients so they spent little time with her. One activity they had her do was sorting cards. Not sure how that helps strengthens legs. She asked multiple times for an ice pack for her hand that was swollen Saturday and still hadn’t received one Sunday afternoon when I arrived. Because she is a fall risk she waits up to an hour for someone to help her to the restroom. Today she rang for assistance and after 20 minutes I went to the nurses station.where two nurses comparing something on their phones. One came and helped her to the bathroom then left. About 10 minutes later a very kind attendant came and finished helping her. My sister is a sharp woman who keeps meticulous notes on her daily encounters. They read like a comedy of errors. One hand does not seem to know what the other is doing at this facility.
