Family member in Bria on advice of ill informed social worker. Admitted two weeks. Could not get them discharged soon enough. Did not feel they were safe in facility. They care for staff more than patients. Limited recreational activities. Not enough staff to handle acuity. Multiple med errors noted. Did not receive shower for a week. No apparent rounding noted. Shameeka (aide), attempted to intimidate residents - typical bully to those who can’t speak for themself. Should be fired. Vulnerable people are not safe under her care Techs Amber, Pam, Lena and Diana took good care of my loved one. Environment outdated, LOUD, smelly and not conducive to healing. Day Greeter more interested in her phone than interacting with families entering building. Do not trust/ utilize this facility.

I have been here for a long time. The staff is wonderful. They take good care of you. The food is good and you get plenty of it. I think it is a great place. I would recommend it for any Senior. The Staff cares about you as a person.

My father has been a resident at Bria of Columbia for a couple of years now! I have always been happy with the care he has received! The staff is often attentive to his needs! The building is clean and decorated nicely.

If I could give this facility zero stars, I absolutely would. I would never recommend any of the BRIA facilities to anyone because of many other stories I’ve been hearing. My loved one was placed in BRIA earlier this year for rehab after a surgery. (It was the only place that would accept the insurance…United Healthcare is the pits!) They were unable to administer his peritoneal dialysis because their nursing staff was not educated on it even though administration reported that they were. Even worse, we have strong reason to believe staff administered diabetes medication to him without checking his blood sugar. All the while he had been in the hospital prior to going to BRIA, the nurses never had to give him insulin because his blood sugars were always very good (120, 117,etc.). At BRIA, we believe nursing staff administered insulin to him without checking his numbers and his sugar dropped to 20s and he was totally unresponsive when found by staff and sent to the hospital where he never fully recovered and passed away….all due to the low blood sugar. He was totally alert up until the day his blood sugar dropped…It didn’t drop on its own but of course, none of the staff was able to report anything. It has brought much grievance to our family and deeply regretful that he was ever there to begin with.
