Upon arriving at Newfield House situated atop a long driveway on a hill in a section of Plymouth that overlooks the ocean, I am immediately captivated by the sight of a field of meticulously planted tulips and various beds of beautiful gardens on the opposite side. The sheer effort, patience, and love required to cultivate and maintain such a vibrant display of flowers astound me. However, it is the nurturing environment within that enables these plants to flourish. Throughout my life, I have had numerous relatives and friends reside in various assisted living facilities throughout the South Shore. None of these facilities could possibly compare to this unique home where residents receive the same exceptional care, patience, and love. I visit a friend who resides there, and when I enter her quiet room while she is asleep, I am greeted by the sound of bustling activity in the hallway. I observe nurses and staff members collaborating to plan the day’s activities, working as a cohesive team to assist each and every resident. Their laughter fills the air, and I notice that someone across the hall from my friend’s room is engaged in creating flower arrangements using the beautiful blooms grown there. Each table in the dining rooms are displayed with these exquisite flowers. I see and hear kitchen staff greeting residents with warm greetings as they pass by to and from cooking homemade delicious meals. I proceed to the lounge, which resembles a grand Vermont lodge, where residents engage in exercises guided by various staff members. From my vantage point overlooking the ocean, I can observe people laughing and genuinely enjoying their work. I cannot say more about this exceptional place, except that it is truly a home to a population of elderly individuals who are not merely surviving but thriving like those flowers and living with happiness, all thanks to the remarkable people who care for them.

I love the Newfield House. My 86-year-old Mother has been a resident there for the past 2.5 years after moving to Massachusetts to be closer to me. She had previously been at a newer, more "shiny" facility, but the level of care there could not compare. At the Newfield House, I know she’s in excellent hands. The staff is consistently kind, attentive, and willing to go above and beyond. Many have been there for decades, which really speaks to the culture of care that starts with the leadership. The owner and managers are hands-on and step in wherever needed. The activities are wonderful—far more engaging than what my mother experienced before. There’s always something happening, music throughout the day, and celebrations for both major and smaller holidays that include family members. I visit four to five times a week, and over time, the staff have become friends, and the residents and their loved ones feel like extended family. Most importantly, I have complete trust in the care my mother receives. At her previous facility, I was getting frequent calls about falls; that hasn’t happened once since she moved to Newfield House, which is a testament all on its own. I’m truly grateful every day that we found this special place for her to call home.

My Mom has been a resident at Newfield House for several years. We moved her there from another nursing home that was not great (inadequate and inconsistent care, etc). Newfield House is a completely different experience and I am so grateful for the incredible, dedicated staff - many who have been there for decades; the wonderful activities; fun events that we all can enjoy and even a resident dog that we all love. It's family run and they treat the residents like family. My Mother had perked back up and has a second wind after coming to Newfield House and I am so grateful. It also has a beautiful garden and has a view of the water which is a lovely extra for the residents to enjoy

Special place staffed by skillful people and managed with care, compassion and concern for their guests. Beautiful grounds, enjoyable food and endless activities make for purposeful days. My Father truly enjoyed the Independence Day Concert in the garden. He mentions that concert frequently. We evaluated many options and Newfield was a surprisingly easy choice. Cost is perfectly reasonable and there are zero unwanted financial entanglements. We are thankful such a wonderful place exists and that my Father is able to be a part of it. Enthusiastically recommended!

My grandmother was at Newfield for a year and a half and had a fantastic experience. Eli and his team made our whole family feel comfortable during a very stressful time. Her care while at Newfield was exceptional and we feel fortunate she was able to be there.
