Great experience so far. Things change so quickly in caregiving sometimes, but I have found new clients within a day or two when stuff comes up. I appreciate how much the scheduling team is willing to help find hours.

I've worked caregiving before but New Horizons is different, in the best way. The training for caregivers was quick but very thorough, they have so many resources for caregivers to expand their working knowledge, you can build your own schedule which is amazing (especially for the people juggling work and family life), and the staff genuinely care about eachother and all the caregivers, everyone here is so understanding and flexible. It's nice to work for a company that puts their employees first.

New Horizons did a great job matching a caregiver, Victoria, with my mother upon her return from the hospital, and then a SNF, after a fall. Victoria has lots of energy and initiative. She has taken over many household drudgery duties so my mother can do other things she still enjoys at 90 years old. Going through New Horizons eliminates the paperwork and other tasks needed to employ an individual directly. The downside is that it is a company, so there are lots of rules, and case managers seem to have a high turnover. As long as Victoria stays with them, though, we can put up with that!

I have been disappointed with the services provided by New Horizons. On several occasions we were left with no care giver. Care givers were scheduled and did not show up. In my opinion, they are understaffed and not able to get reliable dependable care givers. I found myself scrambling at the last minute to get neighbors to take care of my Mother in Law. This is not acceptable. Several of the care givers that did show up were very helpful and made an effort to provide adequate care.

Leslie Lopez Martinez hands down gets 6 star's the company gets 1... I highly recommend Leslie. Leslie worked with my son for 9 months. She was extremely helpful and very compassionate to our situation and so very helpful in every way. I can speak very highly of Leslie and her commitment to my son and our family. She was extremely reliable and flexible to our needs. I can highly recommend Leslie and say she is very dedicated and loyal to her client. As for the company itself, they need to do some serious corrections in the company and take care of their clients and caregivers and give better training. Leslie thankfully had prior training from dealing with her autistic family member so I was very lucky. Truly Leslie was a godsend to our family. We moved away too far for her to travel otherwise she'd still be with us. She is very missed and I feel the best caregiver anyone could ask for. I ask in turn that whomever is lucky enough to have her as a caregiver, please be good to her, she's truly awesome. 💖 Sincerely,, The Garry family. Leslie hands down gets 6 star's but the company itself gets a one. Ask them why.
