About Memorial Nursing & Rehabilitation Center

Memorial Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is a nursing home in Dumas, Texas, operated as a service of Moore County Hospital District. The facility is staffed by Registered Nurses, Licensed Vocational Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and Certified Medication Aides, supported by activities staff dedicated to providing residents with recreational programs and excursions.

The center has served the Moore County community for over 40 years and maintains one of the lowest nursing staff turnover rates in Texas. The combined service experience of the staff exceeds 200 years, with an average length of service of over seven years; approximately a quarter of staff members have served residents for more than 10 years.

A comprehensive 2016 renovation transformed the facility into an intimate living environment. The majority of resident rooms are now private, with only a few semi-private rooms available upon request. All rooms received complete makeovers from ceiling to floor with new furniture, and the dining room was similarly updated with new surfaces, furniture, and serving equipment alongside a renovated atrium that provides natural light and space for gatherings.

Common areas throughout the facility include a newly refreshed beauty salon staffed with licensed beauticians, a family room for visits with loved ones, and a relaxation room where residents watch television and participate in activities. The facility features updated flooring, textured walls, a dropped ceiling, and artwork designed to create a home-like atmosphere.

Outdoor amenities include a covered entrance to protect residents and visitors during inclement weather, a lattice-covered back patio with a built-in grill for residents and families, and a railed walkway with benches where residents can enjoy the weather on sunny days.

My dad died in this facility! He was suffering from pneumonia and had COPD. They took him for a bath when they should have just cleaned him in his room. He was dead within an hour after his bath. They stole my mothers phone that my dad had and kept the TV we purchased for dad. Do not recommend putting your loved one here!
