When I try to call my 96 year old dad they constantly disconnect me. This is true no matter how many times I call back. It would be nice if they allowed him access to a telephone!

Filing a complaint with the health department due to the condition of the facility. It was made known by the current facility manager “that they don’t have the money to fix the guano and feces issues.”

Well it has been a year since my brother died due to the neglectful nursing care of both St. Croix Hospice and the staff at Medina. What a mistake to send him to this place. When I first entered I walked through a makeshift archway full of second-hand smoke. The door opens to a pungent odor of urine. The building is old but apparently clean. He did have a nice bed. My family member had dementia. He could be difficult. Staff took his behaviors personally. I believe they understaff and this doesn’t help. In the end a serious health issue was ignored. My family member ended up in ICU. An attempt to talk to management about this was met with a defensive posture and dismissive rhetoric. Don’t send anyone you love here. It’s not safe.

Very nice, caring and attentive staff. My father was only there for not even a day but he had much better care here, than at the hospitals.
