This facility failed a vulnerable diabetic resident in a serious and unacceptable way. He was not provided proper diabetic meals, and staff failed to even check on him regularly. Basic care was neglected. What was supposed to be a two-week stay turned into a medical emergency within just three days. He had to be removed and is now in the hospital receiving treatment because of their negligence. This is not just poor service — it is dangerous. No one should trust this place with the care of a loved one.

I am absolutely disgusted by my experience with this nursing home. The level of negligence and dishonesty we encountered is beyond unacceptable. Staff members repeatedly misled both the resident and his caregiver, and critical care needs were ignored. There was a complete lack of urgency, accountability, and basic human compassion. If it had not been for the caregiver stepping in and advocating when no one else would, the outcome could have been tragic. That is not an exaggeration—that is how serious the situation became. This facility failed to provide even the most fundamental standard of care. Families trust places like this with the lives of their loved ones, and that trust was completely broken here. I would strongly urge anyone considering this nursing home to think twice and ask hard questions before placing someone in their care. Do not go there

Tracy the administrator is all about enforcing the rules, regulations and ensuring her patients, families and staff remain safe. Working long hours and dedicating her own time to the facility, she strides for nothing but excellence with her team.

A truly wonderful facility and such an answer to prayer! Even with our very limited means, they not only made room for my grandmother when we had very few options, but also went above and beyond to make us feel welcome with open arms. Truly a gift from God; my heart feels so grateful knowing my grandmother receives such kind, compassionate care. You can tell they have invested much time and energy into making Medicalodge feel like a home away from home - from the aviary, to the various activity rooms, all the way to the outdoor playground and gardens - you can feel God's love throughout! Tracy, the executive director, despite having many responsibilities, made herself personally available to answer any questions or concerns as we settled in, and can always be found with a smile on her face! Thank you for the love you have all shown our family, we are so blessed to have found a home in Medicalodge, Iola!

Rarely have I ever been so impressed as with the head of laundry services. OH MY GOODNESS, what an awesome person she is! She has a natural talent to make you feel part of the "inside" although we are still limited to the outside. I know she looks after my mother personally! What a tremendous feeling of inclusion! Thank you!
