Martha T. Berry Medical Care Facility is a skilled nursing facility in Mount Clemens, Michigan, founded by Macomb County in 1950. The facility was established largely through the generosity of the late Dr. Henry G. Berry, a physician who practiced in Macomb County for approximately 50 years, and was named in memory of his wife, Martha Taylor Berry. It is governed by the County Board of Commissioners and overseen by an appointed Board of Social Services.
The facility serves as a safety net for frail elders with little or no financial means to obtain care. Martha T. Berry provides both transitional care as a bridge between hospital and home and extended stays with continued care and assistance for those requiring long-term skilled nursing care.
As one of over 30 county-owned facilities in Michigan, Martha T. Berry is a member of the Michigan County Medical Care Facilities Council. The facility maintains a staffing level higher than eight out of ten facilities in the state and emphasizes compassionate care, ethical practices, and continuous quality improvement.
