A dear friend who had dementia resided at Marin Terrace for nearly a year before her recent death. Despite the efforts of caring and over-worked staff, the lack of management after the departure of Darnell Williams resulted in communications that, at best, were minimal, at worst borderline neglectful. There were no communications to family about the numerous management turnovers, no regular updates about the resident's condition, and no notice when call buttons were disabled and phone service failed. The first two recommended Hospice agencies went out of business within a few weeks of admission. I would not recommend this facility for anyone who can't have personal on-site monitoring by concerned loved ones. And at that, it's nearly impossible to find anyone "in charge," when things go awry. To its credit, Marin Terrace was the only place that would accept my friend who had a checkered history of agitation and aggressive behavior. That there were no activities to distract her was troublesome, as she was left most of the time just slumped in a wheelchair at a table in the empty dining room. A very upsetting and disappointing end to a full, independent life.
